SATHYA SAI INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION OF MAURITIUS

SAI RAM:

A VERY SPECIAL WELCOME TO YOU ALL IN THIS SMALL LAND OF ALL CULTURES AND RELIGIONS.

A VERY GOOD MORNING TO YOU AS WE ARE BLESSED TO BE TOGETHER, UNITED BY THE LOVE WE FEEL FOR SATYA SAI BABA.

MAY I NOW READ THE MESSAGE OF THE RT HON. SIR ANEROOD JUGNAUTH GCSK, KCMG, QC, PRIME MINISTER

I am very pleased to be associated with the Pre-World Conference which is being organised by the Sathya Sai International Organisation, Mauritius.

It is difficult to encapsulate the ocean of teachings of Sathya Sai in a few words. However, simply talking about them inspires us about peace, love and brotherhood.

To his devotees, Sathya Sai, most affectionately known as, Sai Baba, was an avatar, an incarnation of God in human form, who appeared on Earth to preach his inspirational message.

Sai Baba inspired love and admiration.

He is a highly revered spiritual leader and world teacher, whose life and messages have inspired millions of people throughout the world to lead a more purposeful and moral life.

His timeless and universal teachings, along with the manner in which he led his own life, have attracted seekers of truth from all the religions of the world.

Yet, he did not seek to start a new religion.

Nor did he wish to direct followers to any particular religion. Rather, he urged followers to continue to practice the religion of their choice or upbringing.

These words said by him sum it all:

“I have come to light the lamp of Love in your hearts, to see that it shines day by day with added lustre. I have not come on behalf of any exclusive religion. I have not come on a mission of publicity for a sect or creed or cause, nor have I come to collect followers for a doctrine. I have no plan to attract disciples or devotees into my fold or any fold. I have come to tell you of this unitary faith, this spiritual principle, this path of Love, this virtue of Love, this duty of Love, this obligation of Love. “

THOSE WERE HIS WIRDS AS FAR BACK AS

THE 4TH July 1968

I have visited the holy place of Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, India several times. Each visit has been very resourceful for me and enlightening.

I believe in the teachings of Sai Baba.

His message is universal and simple: I still remember the words.

“Love all, serve all. Do not just to strive to raise your standard of living. You should lift your standard of life. The former is material but the latter is eternal.”

He also taught his followers to love their country, to be a patriot and respect the laws of the country in which we live. This is very important to maintain peace and stability within a nation and achieve progress.

The pre world conferences will go far for one and all to learn about the vision, programmes and the mission of the Sathya Sai International Organisation. It also offers them an opportunity to share Sai Baba’s message, His love, and His work.

The gatherings at the World Conference will give a glimpse of that unity.

In Mauritius, the Sathya Sai Organisation is doing a commendable work. From social work to education, the organisation is fully active. In October 2009, as President of the Republic, I inaugurated the first Satya Sai School in Vacoas. THIS institution WILL teach values and principles which mould the personality of the child by inculcating the teachings of Sai Baba.

Throughout the country, ‘Bal Vikas’ classes and satsangs are organised freely where the messages and teachings of the Spiritual Leader are disseminated.

The people of the Republic of Mauritius are multi-ethnic, multilingual and multicultural. I believe that our unity in diversity is a treasure we must always cherish for building a strong Mauritian society where there is peaceful co-existence, respect for the other, economic stability and progress.

IN A WORLD TORN BY WAR AND EXREMISM, WHERE GREED, QUEST FOR POWER AND INDIVIDUAL SELFISHNESS ARE BECOMING CORE VALUES, The teachings of Sathya Sai encompass the precepts to righteous, peaceful and successful living.

We should actively promote them to prevent our youngsters to fall prey to social evils, violent and intolerant behaviour, religious fanaticism and extremism.

I would therefore seize this opportunity to appeal ALL OF YOU and to the public at large to endeavour to keep our society on the track of virtuousness. We can achieve this mission by propagating noble and enriching values which promote the universal message of love and peace which transcends all the barriers.

These values WILL safeguard our unity and the spirit of tolerance in our paradise island and in our world.

I wish success to the Organisers of the pre-World Conference in Mauritius and am confident that the messages and teachings of Sathya Sai will be understood by all:

“Love all, serve all

Help ever, hurt never”

WE ARE UNITED BY A BOND WHICH TAKES US BEYOND ALL SHORES, IN A SPIRIT OF ONENESS AND A STATE OF VIVID EMOTION.

“SAI BABA BELIEVED THAT UNITY IS DIVINITY”.

I HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO MEET WITH SATYA SAI BABA TWICE IN INDIA.

THE FIRST TIME, IN 199O, WHEN WE MET HE ASKED ME:

WHAT DO YOU WANT?

AND I HAD ANSWERED: PEACE

AND HE REPLIED IN SO SIMPLE WORDS THAT ALL OF US, INCLUDING THE PRIME MINISTER, WERE SPELL BOUND.

HE SAID “‘I’ IS THE SYMBOL OF THE EGO AND ‘WANT’ THE SYMBOL OF DESIRE, IF YOU REMOVE THE ‘I ‘AND THE ‘WANT’ WHAT IS LEFT?

I SAID “PEACE”.

HE REPLIED “THAT IS THE WAY TO PEACE”.

THE SECOND TIME, HE PREDICTED EVENTS WHICH WERE LATER TO HAPPEN IN MAURITIUS AND THE PRIME MINISTER WAS THE INSTRUMENT OF THOSE EVENTS WHICH SHAPED THE NATION.

TODAY, IN THE MIDST OF YOU ALL, I DEEPLY FEEL THAT I AM MEETING HIM A THIRD TIME .

I CAN FEEL THAT HE IS HERE, WITH US, AROUND US. I CAN HEAR HIM IN THE RHYTHM OF YOUR SAGTSANG, AND FEEL IT IN THE SILENCE OF YOUR PRAYERS.

AND I AM BLESSED BECAUSE IN EACH ONE OF YOU,

I SEE A GLIMPSE OF THAT SPARK OF GOODLINESS THAT WAS THE AURA OF THE PERFECT SOUL OF SATYA SAI BABA.

I THANK YOU FOR THIS GIFT OF LOVE.

I WISH YOU THE VERY BEST OF ENCOUNTERS, WITH YOURSELF FIRST

AND WITH THIS UNIVERSAL AND POWERFUL SYMBOL OF LOVE THAT SATYA BABA EMBODIED AND WHICH IS STILL ALIVE IN THE WORLD AND IN EACH ONE OF YOU.
