Help
Hi all, Gary Morgan is finding it hard to find a fuel rig for Taupo, does anyone have one or
could share with him? Gary uses E85 and his email is
ss8820@gmail.com
Functions: Sponsored by Hamilton Asphalts
Friday night: Will be in the Tauraha suit Friday night ½ hour after final practice time.
Speaker: is a secret at the moment but we will let you know soon, worth a listen.
CarCam – a Blackvue 500hd wifi camera, he will also help you set it up.
Vortex – warm hands for the racing with Vortex racing gloves
Note also that Vortex will have a stock of crew suits/boots/gloves/balaclavas and nomex
underwear available at the all tracks from the trass family motorsport transporter.
Race Brakes with also be on site with their ute with brakes and bits and bobs for the “just in
case” moments
Race day:
Michelin Tyres will be there to change any tyres for you, small cost of $10.00 per tyre.
La Mans start: At last I get watch a la Mans start in the North Island.
What this means is that
1.
The driver is strapped in and heads out to warm up the car before coming back into
pit lane and grid up by angle reversing into their grid positions.
2.
A crew member is stationed at their allocated running sport ready for the gun to go
off.
3.
Running in front of the garages along pit lane they must get to their car, rip of the
tag and step back into the garage. If a team has radios they will let the driver know.
If they do not have a radio they can have someone on pit wall, who must stay there
until all the cars leave, who can wave their car off.
4.
Drivers must get parallel to the driving lane quickly and move
into the driving line as
soon as possible.
5.
The car in the driving line has the right of way. Unless the car merging is parallel to
the driving line and is in front, then the car at the back must allow them in.
All will be explained fully at drivers briefing on Friday night and on Saturday morning. It
is run along the same rules as the Highland Park rounds, lots of fun and an awesome
spectator time.
I have already had some emails from concerned one hour drivers who only have, and I
quote, “old crew members who cannot run that far” As we have a number of three hour
teams who have lots of crew I have put their mind at ease and said it is find to find other
runners.
