PUBLICATION YEAR: 1991 ABSTRACT: GERA-2 code allows performance of simultaneous reduction of gravitational and magnetic anomalies over a unique physical-geological profile. Geologic reduction of gravitational and magnetic anomalies is performed at the Tarsdallyar-Gyurzundag-Palantyekyan section over a high accuracy gravimagnetic profile, where available drilling and seismic survey data, in combination with the data on rock density and magnetic susceptibility, allowed to develop physical-geological model of the medium. Upper Miocene rocks possessing high density are the main abnormality-forming complex according to the available data. Sharp magneto-active borders are absent in Paleogene sediments. Local maxima are not completely compensated at the reduced gravitation field in the section of Gyurzundag and Palantyekyan folds, i.e. these maxima are caused by rises in zones of mentioned folds of dense Mezozoic rocks. This is an important result of interpretation of gravitational anomalies in the Kura-Iori district obtained by means of geologic reduction of gravitational anomalies. Their capacity properties are related mainly to secondary pores and fractures; filtration properties are related to macro- and microfractures of lithic and tectonic origin. Difractometric curves and thermograms of the volcanic rocks from the 4123 m deep well as well as data on mineralogical composition, porosity (0,6-28,8%), permeability (from non-permeable to 52,7x10 (super -15) m (super 2) ) and specific fracture density (0-126 m (super -1) ) of volcanic rocks are presented. The data display satisfactory reservoir properties for adding the formation to the estimates of significant oil and gas reserves. It was concluded that by forecasting the value of the porosity factor for one of the reservoirs, one can forecast the value of the factor for other reservoirs at the same levels. It is noted that determination of limiting K values for the formations in question corresponding to the case when conditions still exist for the formations to accumulate hydrocarbons is an important problem.
