daha  bir  əhəmiyyətli  cəhəti  onun  iki 

dildə  olmasıdır.  Bu,  uşaqlara  dillərə 

yiyələnməkdə  və  təbiətin  mühafi­

zəsinə  dair  xüsusi  terminləri  öyrən­

məkdə kömək edər. Sonda qeyd etmək 

istərdim  ki,  ustalıqla  istifadə  edilmiş 

əyani  vəsaitlərlə  zəngin  olan  bu  kitab 

oxucunu özünə cəlb edir.

The book that has been put together is 

extremely important for the ecological 

education  of  children  and  young 

people. 

This  book  is  intended  to 

arouse in the reader a feeling of love for 

our  Caspian  Sea  and  its  riches,  and  a 

feeling of responsibility for preserving 

its ecology.  The authors were not only 

able  to  encompass  all  of  the  most 

important  aspects  of  the  fish  of  the 

Caspian in a brief form, but also to find 

ways  of  making  this  information 

accessible for  the young  reader.  One 

more important advantage of the book 

has  to  be  emphasized:  it  is  written  in 

two  languages.  This  is  extremely 

important from the point of view of the 

general development of linguistic skills, 

as well as giving children knowledge of 

special  English  environment  protec­

tion  terminology. 

In  conclusion,  I 

would  like  to  note  that  the  book  will 

impress anyone with its abundance of 

masterful illustrations, and this entices 

the reader.

BP  şirkəti  ətraf  mühitin  müha­

fizəsinə  olduqca  ciddi  yanaşaraq  bu 

sahədə  öz  öhdəliklərini  dəqiq  yerinə 

yetirməyə  çalışır.  Sağlamlıq,  əməyin 

təhlükəsizliyi  və  ətraf mühitin  müha­

fizəsi  sahəsində  bizim  məqsədimizi 

qısa şəkildə belə ifadə etmək olar:

"Heç  bir  qəzaya  yol  verməmək, 

insanlara heç bir xəsarət yetirməmək və 

ətraf mühitə heç bir ziyan vurmamaq"

Bu  aydın  və  mürəkkəb  məqsədə 

yalnız davamlı  inkişaf yolu  ilə  çatmaq 

olar.

Davamlı  inkişafın  ən  dəqiq  tərif­

lərindən  biri  1987-ci  ildə  Brutland 

Komissiyası tərəfindən təklif olunub və 

aşağıdakı  şəkildə  ifadə  olunur:  "Bəşə­

riyyət,  bugünkü  nəslin  ehtiyaclarını 

təmin edərkən gələcək nəsillərin də öz 

ehtiyaclarını  ödəmə  imkanına  ziyan 

vurmadan inkişafın davamlılığını təmin 

etmək iqtidarındadır".

dədir.  Çünki  davamlı  inkişaf  elə 

problemlər  qaldırır  ki,  onlara  uzun 

müddət  diqqət  yetirilm əzsə,  bu 

məsələlər  hətta  ən  uğurlu  və  yüksək

environment extremely seriously.  Our 

Health, Safety and Environmental goal 

is very simply stated: “No accidents, no 

harm  to  people,  and  no  damage  the 

environment.”  This clear and complex 

goal  can  only  be  achieved  through 

sustainable  development.  One  of  the 

best definitions of sustainable develop­

ment  was  suggested  in  1987  by  the 

Brundtland  Commission,  which  for­

mulated  it  as  follows:  “Humanity  has 

the  ability  to  make  development 

sustainable  to ensure it meets the needs 

of the  present  without  compromising 

the ability of future generations to meet 

their needs.”

Sustainable  development  is  an  issue, 

which  BP  intends  to  address.  “Sus­

tainable  development  raises  issues 

which, if ignored for long enough, have 

the potential  to destroy even  the most 

profitable and successful companies.”

The  main  components  of  sustainable 

development  are  the  generation  of 

economic  wealth,  environmental 

improvement,  and social  equity.  The 

balance  between  these  three  compo-

gəlirlə  işləyən  şirkətləri  belə  məhv 

etməyə qadirdir.

Davamlı  inkişafın  əsas  tərkib  his­

sələri  maddi  rifahın  yaradılması,  ətraf 

mühitin  mühafizəsinin  təkmilləşdiril­

məsi və sosial ədalət prinsiplərinə nail 

olmaqdır.  Bu üç tərkib hissələri arasın­

da tarazlığa nail olmaq davamlı inkişaf 

sahəsində  uğurların  açandır.  İqtisadi 

rifah  olmadığı  halda  ətraf  mühitin 

mühafizəsi  sahəsindəki  yüksək  nəti­

cələrin heç bir mənası yoxdur.

Ətraf  mühitin  məhv  olması  hesa­

bına yaradılan iqtisadi rifahın da heç bir 

əhəmiyyəti yoxdur. Bundan başqa rifah 

halından  asılı  olmayaraq  sosial  ədalət­

dən məhrum olmuş cəmiyyətdə sabitlik 

ola bilməz.

Biz yaxın və uzaq məqsədlərimizin 

həllində tarazlığa nail olmağa çalışmalı, 

şirkətimizin  Azərbaycanda  fəaliyyə­

tinin  iqtisadi,  ekoloji  və  sosial  aspekt­

lərinin inteqrasiyasına nail olmalıyıq.

Davamlı  inkişafın  mühüm  sahələ­

rindən  biri  olaraq  "Bioloji  müxtəliflik" 

BP  şirkətinin  bu  sahədəki  strategiya-

nents  is  the  key  for  success  in 

sustainable  development.  Excellent 

environmental  performance  is  mea­

ningless if no wealth is created.  Wealth 

in  a  destroyed  environment  is  equally 

senseless.  No  matter  how  wealthy,  a 

society fundamentally lacking in social 

equity cannot be sustained.

We need to  achieve a  balance between 

short-term  and  long-term  objectives, 

and  also  to  integrate  the  economic, 

environmental,  and  social  aspects  of 

our company's business in Azerbaijan.

Biological  diversity,  being  a  part  of 

sustainable  development,  is  an  impor­

tant  aspect  and  a  basic  theme  of BP's 

overall  strategy  in  the  field  of  sus­

tainable  development.  Biological 

diversity is the variety of life at all levels 

of biological  organization,  from  genes 

through species to ecosystems.  It is the 

basis  of the life supporting systems  on 

which we all depend.

The  UN  Convention  on  Biological 

Diversity is an international agreement 

that calls for conservation of biological 

diversity, sustainable use of its compo­

nents, and equitable sharing of benefits 

obtained from genetic resources.

While it is a part of sustainable develop­

ment,  biological  diversity  is  currently 

being  lost  at  an  alarming  rate.  Bio­

diversity  loss  is  attributed  to  land  use 

change, pollution, unsustainable use of 

biological diversity such as use of water, 

timber, gravel, stone, and so on.  Biolo­

gical diversity is also impacted by intro­

duction of species and climate change as 

well.

sının  əsas  mövzusunu  təşkil  edir. 

Bioloji  müxtəliflik  genlərdən  və  növ­

lərdən  tutmuş  ekosistemlərə  qədər 

bioloji  təşkilin  bütün  səviyyələrində 

canlı  aləmin  müxtəlifliyidir.  Bu  bizim 

hamımızın  asılı  oduğumuz  həyatın 

təminat sisteminin əsasını təşkil edir.

Bioloji  müxtəliflik  üzrə  BMT-nin 

konvensiyası  beynəlxalq  saziş  olub, 

bioloji  müxtəlifliyi  mühafizə  etməyə, 

onun  komponentlərindən  stabil  istifa­

dəyə  və  genetik  ehtiyatlardan  alınmış 

mənfəətlərin  ədalətli  bölünməsinə 

çağırır.

Davamlı  inkişafın  bir  hissəsi  olan 

bioloji  müxtəliflik  hal-hazırda  sürətlə 

məhv  olur.  Bioloji  müxtəlifliyin sabit­

liyinin  pozulmasının  əsas  səbəbləri 

torpağın  düzgün  istismar  olunmaması, 

ətraf  mühitin  çirkləndirilməsi,  təbii 

sərvətlərdən  həddən  artıq  istifadə 

edilməsidir.  Yeni  növ  canlıların  eko­

sistemə  daxil  olması,  iqlim  dəyişməsi 

də bioloji müxtəlifliyə təsir edən amil­

lərdəndir.

Xəzər  dənizinə  qaldıqda  isə  biz 

hamımız  planetimizin  bu  unikal  su 

hövzəsinin problemlərini yaxşı bilirik.

Davamlı  inkişaf iqtisadi  yüksəlişlə 

ekoloji  cəhətdən  özünü  doğruldan 

əməliyyatlar  arasında  tarazlığa  riayət 

etməkdir.  Biz  buna  ABƏŞ,  Şahdəniz, 

İnam  və  Alovdakı  partnyorlarımızla 

birgə  iş  zamanı  əməliyyatlarımızın 

ətraf  mühitə  təsirini  öyrənmək  və 

mümkün ziyanı azaltmaqla nail oluruq. 

Buna görə  də  biz ətraf  mühitin  ilkin 

vəziyyətini  müfəssəl  tədqiq edir və bu 

təsirin  qiymətləndirməsini 

tədqiqat 

işlərində  istifadə  edərək  yerinə 

yetiririk.

As to the Caspian, we are all well aware 

of  the  problems  of this  unique  water 

body of our planet.

Sustainable  development  is  about 

balancing growth with environmentally 

sound  operational  practice.  Working 

together with our partners from AIOC, 

Shah  Deniz,  Inam,  and  Alov,  we  are 

trying to  achieve this  balance  through 

studying  and  mitigating  the  environ­

mental impact of our operations.  That 

is  why  we  carry  out  numerous  asses­

sments,  performing  the  detailed  envi­

ronmental baseline studies and develo­

ping environmental impact assessments 

(EIAs),  which  are  the  internationally 

recognized  tool  for  identifying,  evalu­

ating,  and  mitigating  the  impacts  of 

developments on the environment.
