  • Conducting field research and contributing to research reports on the impacts of El Niño in Ethiopia, groundwater management for poverty reduction and management of river ecosystem health in India, and tracking international public development finance for water resources in the Middle East and North Africa.




2015-2016

Research Assistant / Officer, Climate and Environment

  • Authored and contributed to working and synthesis papers on resilience to climate stresses, with a particular focus on tracking and evaluating resilience outcomes.

  • Contributed to research on bridging humanitarian and development finance through crisis modifiers in resilience-building programmes

  • Reviewed India’s subnational disaster management plans and guiding alignment with international commitments

  • Synthesized literature, analyzed financial flows, and managed compilation of inputs for World Bank’s 2014 World Development Report background paper on disaster finance, published by the World Bank.

  • Developed coding methodology and analyzed climate funding data for ODI report on disaster risk reduction (DRR).

  • Conducted case study research and managed others’ research inputs for DFID-commissioned report on, ‘Geography of Poverty and Disasters’ (2013).

  • Refined and updated the CCAPS/AidData Climate Aid Spectrum Methodology for tracking aid flows, and supported development of coding methodology for food security projects;

  • Evaluated data to determine how aggregated projects addressed climate change adaptation.
