Ran the lab section, including re-working of lab manual and implementation of new protocols that enabled properly functioning NMOS devices. Duties included teaching of laboratory sections, supervising other TAs, providing a grading scheme for lab reports, grading lab reports, and writing lab manual sections. Also performed emergency re-work of protocols to enable fabrication without fully functioning wetbenches.

Performed research on novel materials fabrication for biomedical microdevices, including novel polymers for biocompatible silicon wafer bonding and structural materials for thin film nanoporous membranes.

Performed research and design on an ultrasonic spore lysing system for B. anthracis detection in a microfluidic platform, which is now used in governmental and military applications for field analysis of air samples. Also performed design of microfluidic cartridges and valving systems for simplified flow patterns.

Performed research on operational dynamics of electrostatic micromotors. Studied the tribology of silicon micromotors according to the operational parameters, using both electrostatic and pneumatic actuation.
