In 1965 became a founding member and first chairman of the Union of Architects in Bulgaria. Chairman of the Union in two periods: 1965-1968 and 1977-1990.
From 1967 to 1971 was mayor of Sofia.
From 1971 to 1973 was minister of Architecture and Public Works.
From 1967 to 1990 was deputy in the National Assembly.

Founder and Secretary-General of the “Balkan Federation of Architects”.
Founder and president of the Global Centre for Technical Information and Urbanism to the Global Federation of Twin Cities of which he was vice president from 1970 to 1976.
