A Message From Our Co-Presidents
The last few months at B’nai Tikvah have been packed with fabulous
activities. We kicked off our series on Israel programming with
Kasim Hafeez – a passionate Zionist Muslim – and Rabbi Ken Spiro
– a renowned lecturer on anti-Semitism. Nearly six hundred people
came out to hear these presentations. We went hiking in the woods
of Sourland Mountain Preserve, finishing up with a world-class
tailgate. We toured the baseball exhibit at the National Museum of
American Jewish History and we barbequed at our annual picnic in
Reichler Park. We went kickboxing with Sisterhood and built our
sukkah with Men’s Club, and our school year is off to an incredible
beginning. Of course, we gathered together for the Fall Four
(Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simchat Torah),
marveling at our beautiful new Holiday Torah mantles, and
committing ourselves to a fresh start this year.
The coming months promise to be just as exhilarating, including a
group trip to the screening of The Green Prince at the Rutgers Jewish
Film Festival; an evening with Itamar Marcus – founder of Palestin
ian Media Watch; the film, Honor Diaries; comedy night; game night,
and a whole host of learning opportunities. We are so grateful to
everyone in our community for bringing these events to life. Please
log on to bnaitikvah.org for all of the details and be a part of the
vibrant B’nai Tikvah family.
There is something very poignant about the transition from the
Jewish season of repentance and forgiveness to the secular season
of giving thanks. We are so thankful for our health, our families,
our friendships, and our amazing CBT community. We resolve to do
better in our personal lives and in our roles as Presidents of this
congregation. We wish everyone a healthy, happy, and peaceful year.
Allison Nagelberg,
Co-President
Ruth Anne Koenick, Co-President
Our next four meeting dates are at 7:45 in the Youth Lounge on Tuesday, September 30, Tuesday October 14,
Wednesday October 29 and Thursday November 13. Hope to see you there.
