Sai Borehole Project, conducted at Mahali Pa Usalama. It’s a rescue centre for sexually abused children on an average the home has 25 kids.

  • ANNUAL SPORTS’ DAY REPORT

  • The 2014 Annual Sports and Fun Day was held on Sunday 22nd June 2014.

  • This year’s theme was LOVE AND UNITY FOR SUCCESS. All the activities had an element that reflected the theme of the Sports’ Day

  • We were pleased to be with School Board member, Bro Ambi, some invited guest, 3 head teachers from surrounding schools and an overwhelming attendance of parents and guardians.(95% attendance)

  • Rating and remarks.

  • Bro Ambi rated this year’s sport day to be the most organized .

  • Parents were very pleased with the organization where they also took part in some events.

  • Students were immaculate in their new track suits.

  • Everyone owned the activities especially the staff; hence it ended up being a very successful day.

The National Youth Wing (NYW) of the Sri Sathya Sai Service Organization (SSSSO) in Nigeria is an integral part of the mother organization, SSSSO, and functions as an arm of hers, and not independent of her.

  • The National Youth Wing (NYW) of the Sri Sathya Sai Service Organization (SSSSO) in Nigeria is an integral part of the mother organization, SSSSO, and functions as an arm of hers, and not independent of her.

  • There has been no independent Youth activities thus far, however, the Youth Wing has actively participated in Seva programs organized by their various centres across the country. These activities range from feeding the poor to community service. In some of the centres, the Youth Wing even presented drama, etc.

  • Nature of the programme / event: This programme takes place Nationally every 2/3 months, in which different Regions have the opportunity of playing Host. Topics (Practical Spirituality) relevant to Youth are presented in a manner that youth will find it easy to relate to ..

  • The topics for the YL4T Programmes in 2014 comes from last year’s content as well as topics that were discussed at the National Youth Camp 2013-

  • Feb 2014 :Blueprint –Four aspects of blueprint, physical, mental social and spiritual.

  • Setting goals, importance of integrating Sai principles in all areas of life. (Constant integrated Awareness) . Integration of human values in Thought, Word and Action. To bring power into life one needs to have unity and purity in Thought, Word and Action

  • April 2014: Relationships Youth are faced with several relationship issues on a daily basis. Irrespective of the age group of youth, each person is searching for love, others a companion with a view to finally settle down when the time is right, but Youth generally seem to have many Questions around this Topic which was address in the sessions with Teachings from our Dear Lord

  • 16th June 2014 – Theme of Universalism was incorporated and celebrated together with our June 16th History of South Africa.

  • Number attending: Feb: 212 across the country, April: 174 across the country.

  • Try to involve as many Youth as possible in the programme, use the platform as an opportunity to give ALL a chance to Serving Swami ;involved in planning and presenting of topics thereby building leadership capacity within the Organisation.

  • Nature of the programme / event: Create awareness and accessibility to apply for the My School Card, amongst all devotees.

  • Number attending: n/a

  • Impact of the programme / event: Bhagawan Baba has created a beautiful legacy of love in the form of quality based education in human values through the Sathya Sai Schools. It is our duty to ensure that it continues to grow to the pinnacle heights of divine perfection. One such avenue to ensure this legacy lives on, is the MySchool card initiative.

  • This project also lends to Regional Youth co-ordinators to lead a project and work together with Regional Presidents and Seva Convenors.

  • Name of programme / events : Ladies Forum Recipe Book

  • Nature of the programme / event: Promote healthy eating and sharing Food Knowledge and creativity.

  • Youth contributed towards the Kids segment in the recipe book as well as assisted with editing and capturing of recipes.

  • Tapovanam – National Initiative

  • Youth across the country actively participated in the Tapovanam National observance and in some Regions, youth worked together with the Spiritual Wing and had the opportunity to conduct study circles, dramas, music, etc

  • Name of activity: EHV, Value Parenting, Youth Programs and Leadership Skills

  • Date: 22nd May to 30th May 2014

  • Nature of the activity: Workshops in different schools in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

  • Number of youth attended: 100 youth on average in each school

  • Impact of the activity: The golden Triangle and EHV to Children with its effects. E.H.V in the form of Golden triangle (Head, Heart, Hands) and its effects in the missing link for children age between 10 to 17 years. Human values and how it corrects the path towards service age is the same.

  • NB.No independent Youth Activities , in the process of trying to revive a Youth Wing

  • National Programmes

  • January 2014 - National Orientation & Welcome Day: 60 Youth office bearers attended this event of which 30 were youth coordinators and 30 were office bearers across the 3 wings. There was a youth workshop to discuss the implementation of the UK youth objectives. A youth speaker shared their experiences of being inspired to serve Swami’s Mission as a result of growing up in the Sai Organisation.

  • April 2014 - Sathya Sai Human Values Day: Youth supported the Spiritual Wing in looking after Multi-faith guests from 9 different religions. There were also youth musical performances for this event.

  • May 2014 – National Easwaramma Day: Youth supported Education Wing in looking after SSE children. Youth created an interactive exhibition for the children. There was a youth speaker who gave a talk on the impact of SSE in his values and character today. There was a youth musical performance for this event.

  • Youth Meetings

  • March 2014: 30 Youth Coordinators from across the country met to action plan implementing youth wing objectives for the year and integrating more with the other wings.

  • Young Adults Programme (YAP): Youth around the UK hold YAP on a regular basis which varies from youth study circles, to service activities to devotional singing. YAP for 2014 around the UK is focused on the 9 Point Code of Conduct. Topics/activities that have taken place between January to June around the UK have been

    • Action planning for 2014Importance & benefits of 9 point code of conduct.
    • Meditation & Prayer.
    • Ceiling on desires
    • Regular attendance at devotional meetings
    • Service activities – feeding the homeless & food distribution

  • International disaster relief: Youth contributed towards SSSSOUK efforts towards disaster relief for Philippines and Uttharakhand.

  • January 2014 - UK flood disaster relief: Youth supported SSSSOUK in serving the community impacted by flooding by coordinating the distribution of necessities to serve the flood victims. 3 deliveries were made to impacted areas.

  • April 2014 – Easter eggs and toys to hospitals: Youth established relationships with 12 hospitals around the UK and coordinated the collection with devotees of nearly 1000 Easter eggs and toys which were distributed amongst the hospitals.

  • June 2014 – Conservation Project: 25 youth supported the Service Wing with a conservation project which benefits butterflies in getting better access to food sources. This project involved the cutting and trimming of hedges and clearing of foliage.

  • Food banks: Youth have maintained the Food bank project from 2013 Serve the Planet where UK offered 4.5 tonnes of food to 40 food banks across the UK. Regularly youth coordinate and deliver food to local food banks.

  • Bridge Project: Monthly, 20 youth are involved in preparing and serving 120 homeless people with food.

  • Health awareness clinics: Youth support the Service wing in running free health awareness walk-in clinics for the local community.

  • Youth in Spirituality

  • January & May, Sai Smaran Bhajans. It was a youth initiative for the UK to come together regularly as a country and in unison sing 6 hours continuously the divine name. Youth take lead in Sai Smaran Bhajans and 2 have taken place in 2014, totalling 7 since this initiative started in April 2012. Attendance is approximately 300 devotees for each one. Youth organise with Spiritual wing local singing practices, are actively involved in singing and instruments and youth also provide lunch for those attending as well as setting up the venue and audio/visual.

  • June: Multifaith Walk in Central London: 11 youth took part with 30 devotees in a multi-faith walk in Westminster, London which takes place annually.

  • Rudram Classes: Youth are involved in teaching rudram in classes that are held locally around the UK.

  • Youth with SSE

  • Many youth are actively involved with SSE and teachers or teaching assistants.

  • Youth attended and have run training workshops for SSE training days

  • Youth have supported Easwaramma day celebrations locally and nationally.

  • Youth help plan local Sports & Family Values day for SSE children and families.
