Before charging, be sure to turn off the Atom using the ON/OFF switch located
above the charging port on the back of the Atom. If left on, the Atom won’t charge.
•
Don’t use USB hubs, USB 1.0 or USB 1.1 ports; these may not have enough current
to properly charge the Atom.
•
The USB charging plug only fits into the Atom’s charging port one way. Do not
force it in.
•
You’ll know the Atom is fully charged when the indicator light on the USB
connector glows red. Promptly remove the charging plug once charging is
complete.
•
Charge time varies depending on the Atom’s battery condition. It typically takes up
to 50 minutes to fully charge the Atom from an empty battery.
•
You do not have to fully charge the Atom to fly. Shorter charge time will result in
reduced flying time.

USING YOUR CONTROLLER
7
During a flight, it is normal for the Atom to go off-course slightly sometimes. But if it drifts
continually without any input from the control sticks, you have to adjust the trim positions
to compensate for the drifting. The trim ‘fine-tunes’ the speed of the motors. Just press
the appropriate trim button opposite to the movement repeatedly until the Atom is flying
as straight as possible.

Instinctive mode
OK
In Instinctive mode, your Atom flies in the direction you move the right stick of the controller
relative to its defined reference heading, regardless of the way Atom is oriented.
Follow the instructions below to operate the Atom in
Instinctive mode:
1. Power on the Atom and the controller.
2. Place the Atom on the ground, facing it in the
direction of where you’ll be flying it toward (e.g., a
nearby hill in the skyline).
3. Link the controller. When the Atom initially links
up with the controller, it remembers a reference
heading that it is pointed at (e.g., the direction of
the hill) throughout the flight.
4. To activate Instinctive mode during flight, press
and hold the Instinctive mode button on the
controller for 2 seconds; the controller beeps 8
times.
From now onward, the direction where the Atom
is facing is irrelevant to its control. All forward,
backward, right and left controls are done through the
right stick.
Using the hill as the reference heading in our example,
when you push forward on the right stick, the Atom will
move in the direction of the hill. If you pull back on the
stick, the Atom will move backward away from the hill.
Move the right stick left or right and the Atom will fly left
or right relative to its reference heading.

Sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of your Atom’s orientation when it has flown too far away or
especially during night flying. Now there’s a quick way to bring it back closer to your position!

ATOM FEATURES
Mastered basic maneuver techniques? It’s time to
progress to some of the more advanced flying maneuvers
like 360° flips.
To perform a 360° flip, first bring the Atom to about 3
meters above the ground. Then, press and hold the Flip
button on the controller and move the right stick in the
direction you want to flip. Immediately after flipping the
Atom, you need to quickly apply some throttle to restore
balance and minimize a sudden loss of altitude.
Want to perform thrilling stunts in high speed? The
High/Low Speed button on the controller allows you
to toggle between high and low speed modes. Press
once (the controller beeps twice) to fly the Atom in high
speed mode. Press again (the controller beeps once) to
revert back to the default low speed mode .
360° flip
High / Low Speed mode

This stunt requires lots of practice and best done in wide-open spaces that are free of
obstructions. For optimal control, fly on a clear day without wind.
The higher up the Atom is from the ground when attempting flips, the more space it will have to
recover properly afterward.
Give your Atom that extra speed boost.

• Check that the propellers are firmly secured in their slots before each takeoff.
• Small adjustments made slowly and carefully are the best way to fly well. Be careful
when easing off the throttle – if the Atom stalls, it will fall to the ground and even if
you jam the throttle back on, it might not be able to recover in time.
• Once the Atom is up in the air, practise hovering and keep it in one spot by making
very slight adjustments to the throttle. You’ll find that because it is micro-size, even
the lightest of breeze can effect on the stability of the Atom.
• While positioning the Atom into a steady hover, slowly decrease the throttle until it
lands. Try practising landings on the bonus landing pad game and have some fun
with your friends!
• Use the controller’s left and right sticks at different angles and positions to design
and execute some graceful, arcing turns. Quick thrusts of the stick in different
directions can create some unique tricks or stunts.
• Perform “pirouettes” by rotating around 360° in the air.
• When the battery is starting to run low, the Atom will respond slowly to the
controller or be unable to maintain altitude easily. Before power to the motors is
cut off entirely, gradually move the left stick all the way down to slow the propellers
until you can land the Atom safely.
• Regularly inspect and clean any dirt trapped around the rotors using a soft brush.
Accumulation of dirt puts additional stress on the motor and may cause the rotor to
spin unevenly or even stop spinning completely.
• Wipe the toy clean with a slightly damp cloth
• Do not submerge in water. This will damage the electronic components.
• Always remove the batteries from the controller when not being used for extended
durations.

FCC COMPLIANCE STATEMENT
Problem: The Atom is not responding to stick movements. The Atom status lights are
blinking.
Answer: Recharge the Atom.
Problem: Rotors are spinning, but the Atom cannot lift off the ground.
Answer: Check the rotor blades for damage. Bent or broken rotors can be replaced easily
with the spare ones included in your package. Simply pull the damaged rotor blade out of
its location on the motor shaft and replace it with a new blade.
Problem: The Atom continually flies sideways on its own.
Answer:
• Check for trapped dirt around the rotors. Just a little strand of hair can cause the
Atom to fly out of control.
• Adjust the trim settings to correct the drifting.
• Recalibrate the gyro sensor. First, place the Atom on a level ground, and then hold
both control sticks to the lower right corner until the status lights on the Atom blink
rapidly. When the lights turn solid, the calibration process is complete.
Problem: The controller is beeping.
Answer: Replace the batteries.
