GUIDELINES FOR THE AUTHORS
1.   Publication language of our journal is Turkish and English. 
2.   Articles and works prepared in other languages can be accepted with the approval of par-
ticularly editor-in-chief and management of the journal. The right to accept such works 
belongs unilaterally to our journal. 
3.   Our journal has printed version, only English and Turkish abstract can be provided in onli-
ne format. 
4.   No publication is accepted without registering to the system. 
5.   No author can claim any rights over our journal. 
6.   Responsibility of any work belongs unilaterally to the author. Our journal is not put under 
obligation on this matter. 
7.   Works submitted to our journal for evaluation for publication have to be authentic and have 
not been used somewhere else for any reason or sent for evaluation to anywhere else. Ot-
herwise, works are refused on condition that disclaimer is published, and legal procedure 
about the author is initiated. 
8.   Each and every work is evaluated by two referees who are experts in the field, then publis-
hed on condition that works approved by both referees are lined up. 
9.   No work has superiority or privilege over another work. Each and every author and work is 
equal and has the same rights. Any kind of privilege is not provided. 
10.  Authors do not know which referees have evaluated their works, they do not have the right 
to ask for it. Only system manager and editor-in-chief do have such information and it is 
kept secret. 
11.  Corrections are made in major or minor way. Each work has only two chances for correcti-
ons. If necessary corrections are not made based on two requests, Works are automatically 
refused. 
12.  If previously used works such as thesis, presentation and conference proceeding are tur-
ned into articles, then the information of previous use of the work should be provided and 
explained in the footnote. Otherwise, it is regarded as plagiarism and our journal does not 
accept any liability stemming from this situation.

13.  Works on fields other than our journal accepts are accepted or refused unilaterally by the 
management of the journal or editor-in-chief. In such cases, authors cannot claim any rights. 
14. Every right of the works uploaded to our journal is granted to the journal by the author. 
Signature and consent form are not asked from the author for this, any written document is 
not required. Rights of works uploaded to the system are automatically transferred to the 
journal. 
15. Evaluation process of works submitted to our journal is two months depending on the fe-
edback from referees. If no feedback is received within two months, works are directed to 
another referee. In this case, the time may extend. Under such circumstances, author cannot 
claim any right and cannot withdraw the article from the system. 
16. In the case of works with more than one author, journal management regards the first name 
written in the work as addressee if it is not stated precisely in the work, and acts accor-
dingly. The journal does not have any contact with other authors and does not and does not 
have to inform them except for the first author. 
17. Referees who evaluate works act totally independently. Our journal does not impose any 
sanction on referees and does not ask special treatment. 
18. Our journal is published quarterly in a year; April, August and December. These periods 
may change depending on the publication system of the journal. For this reason, our journal 
is not liable for any demand and obligation. 
19. Referees present their opinions regarding the evaluation of the works; their reports are sent 
to the related author. Correction period is 15 days for each work. Works whose corrections 
are not completed within this period of time are removed from the system and refused. In 
this case, author(s) do not have the right to sanction on our journal. 
20. An abstract in Turkish is mandatory for works which are prepared in other languages. The 
number of key words can vary between 3 and 7. Maximum page number for each work is 
25. Appendices are not included in abovementioned 25-page limitation. Abstract both in 
Turkish and English should be between 100-250 words. TIMES NEW ROMAN should be 
used in the articles, type size should be 12. Article should be written in single space. Title 
of the work should be written bold in 14 pt. Name of authors and their affiliated institutions 
should be bold, italicized and in 12 pt. Turkish and English abstracts should be written in 
10-type size and placed one after the other.

YAYIN İLKELERİ
1.  
“Uluslararası Hakemli Tasarım ve Mimarlık Dergisi”; 4 ayda bir yayınlanan akademik 
ve bilimsel nitelikli uluslararası hakemli bir dergidir. Ancak derginin özel durumlarda ara 
dönem içerisinde de yayın çıkarma hakkı bulunmaktadır.
2.  Dergimizde Görsel Sanatlar, Tasarım, Mimarlık, Peyzaj Mimarlığı, İç Mimarlık alanların-
dan bilimsel ve özgün nitelikli çalışmalar yer almaktadır. Çalışmaların bilimsel kaygılarla 
yazılmış olması, alana katkıda bulunacak nitelikte olması, alandaki önemli kaynakları re-
ferans göstermesi, önyargı ile yazılmamış olması, slogan niteliğinde cümleler içermemesi 
beklenir. Ayrıca tarama, araştırma, bildiriden geliştirilme vb. niteliklerinden birine sahip 
olmalıdır.
3.  Birden fazla yazarın bulunduğu çalışmalarda sorumlu yazar olarak belirtilen yazar muhatap 
kabul edilir. 
4.   Kullanılan kaynaklar derginin yayın kurallarına uygun şablona göre hazırlanmalıdır. 
5.   Dergimizde makale formatı derginin web sitesinde bulunan örnek makale ya da derginin 
son sayısındaki makalelerin dizgisi ve mizampajına göre düzenlenmelidir. 
6.   Yazıların değerlendirilmesi aşamasında öncelikle hakem ve yazarların aynı kurumdan ol-
mamasına özen gösterilir. Hakem ve yazarların isimleri titizlikle saklanır ve hiçbir şekilde 
açıklanmaz. Hakem Kurulu her sayıda değişir ve yazıların konusuna göre oluşturulur. 
7.   Her yazının alanına göre ilk aşamada iki hakem tayin edilir. Hakem raporlarından birinin 
“Yayınlanamaz”, diğerinin “Düzeltilerek Yayınlanabilir” ya da “Yayınlanabilir” olması du-
rumunda ilgili alandan 3. hakem tayin edilebilmekte ve onun raporu beklenebilmektedir. 
Yazardan sadece üç defa düzeltilme istenir. Her üç düzeltmede de istenilen düzeltmeler 
gerçekleştirilmemiş ise yayın sistem tarafından reddedilir.
8.   Yazarların, kendilerinden istenen düzeltmelere titizlikle ve ivedilikle uymaları, yazının son 
şeklini düzeltilmiş haliyle dergiye 15 gün içinde göndermeleri beklenir. Düzeltmeler konu-
suna yeterince uyulmadığı anlaşılırsa bu durum yazara bildirilir. Belirtilen sürede düzeltil-
miş olarak geri gönderilmeyen yazılar yayınlanacaklar listesine alınmaz.

9.   Dergimizin yayın dili Türkçe ve İngilizcedir. 
10.  Dergiye yayınlanmak üzere gönderilen yazıların, daha önce başka bir yayın organında ya-
yınlanmamış olması ya da yayın için değerlendirme aşamasında bulunmaması gerekmekte-
dir.
11.  Daha önce akademik alanda ulusal ya da uluslararası nitelikli bilimsel toplantı, kongre, 
konferans  ya  da  sempozyumda  sunulmuş  olan  bildiriler,  başka  bir  dergi  ya  da  yayında 
yayınlanmamış olması ve makale formatına ve içeriğine dönüştürülmesi ve makalede beli-
ritlmesi koşulu ile kabul edilebilir ve hakem sürecine alınır.
12.  Çeviri metinler, eğer o metin Türkçe’de ender bulunabiliyorsa, çevirisinin alana katkı sağ-
layacağı düşünülüyorsa editör ve yayın kurulunun onayı ile kabul edilir ve hakem süreci 
başlatılır. Ancak her sayıda yayınlanacak çeviri sayısı sınırlıdır. Özgün metinler tercih ne-
denidir.
13.  Dergiye gönderilecek yazılar, MS Word Programı kullanılarak, Times New Roman karak-
terinde, 12 Punto ve 1,5 satır aralığında yazılmalıdır. Sayfanın üst, alt, sol ve sağ tarafların-
da 3’er cm’lik boşluklar olmalıdır. 
14.  Yazılar toplamda 15 sayfayı geçmemeli ve alt ortada sayfa numarası verilmiş olmalıdır. 
Yazıda paragraf girintisi olmamalıdır.
15.  Türkçe yazılarda 150 kelimeyi geçmeyen İngilizce özet, özetin altında 5 anahtar sözcük(ler) 
yer almalıdır. Özetin, yazıldığı yabancı dilde başlığı ve anahtar kelimeleri (keywords) de 
bulunmalıdır.
16.  İngilizce yazılarda 150-200 kelimeyi geçmeyen Türkçe özet, başlık ve anahtar kelimeler 
bulunmalıdır.
17. Özette araştırmanın kapsamı, amacı, yöntemi, ulaşılan sonuçlar ve konudan kısaca söz edil-
melidir.
18. Yazar adı ya da adları, kapak sayfasında yer almalıdır. Kapak sayfasında ayrıca, yazarın 
akademik ünvanı ve çalıştığı kurumun adı, adresi, iş ve cep telefonu, faks numarası ve 
e-posta adresi de bulunmalıdır.
19. Yazıların yayınlanması konusunda son karar baş editöre aittir. Baş editörün yazı hakkındaki 
değerlendirmesi, yazar(lar)a en kısa zamanda hakem raporlarıyla birlikte iletilir.
20. Dergiye gönderilen yazılar, yayınlansın veya yayınlanmasın geri gönderilmez.
21. Yazıların tüm sorumluluğu yazar(lar)ına aittir.

22. Yayımlanan  çalışmaların  yayın  ve  telif  hakkı  dergimize  aittir.  Sisteme  yüklenen  her  bir 
çalışmanın yayın hakkı yazar tarafından otomatik olarak dergiye devredilir. Bu işlem için 
hiçbir yazardan telif hakkı sözleşmesi imza etmesi istenmez. Sisteme yüklenen çalışma için 
yazar bu şartları peşinen kabul etmiştir. İtiraz hakkı bulanmamaktadır.
23. Yazar(lar) ulusal ve uluslararası akademik bilgi paylaşımını desteklemek amacıyla yazıları-
nın tam metin olarak ticari niteliği bulunmayan elektronik veri tabanlarında yer almalarını 
onaylarlar. 
24. “Uluslararası Hakemli Tasarım ve Mimarlık Dergisi” elektronik sistemle çalışan bir dergi 
olup, basılı olarak da yayınlanmaktadır. Basılı yayın almak isteyen kişilerin dergi bedelini 
ilgili basım yapan firmaya ödemesi karşılığında temin etme hakkı bulunmaktadır. Dergimiz 
hiçbir yazara veya bireye, kuruma basılı dergi vermek zorunda değildir. Yine dergimize 
gönderilen çalışmalar için yıllık üyelik ücreti ilgili basım firmasına ödenmelidir. Bu ücret 
sadece derginin yıllık basım ve diğer giderleri için basım evimin yaptığı harcamalara isti-
naden alınır. Dergimiz ücretli bir dergi değildir. 
25. Sisteme yüklenen çalışmaların değerlendirme süresi iki aydır. Bu süre içerisinde değer-
lendirilmeyen ve hakkında ilgili bilgi rapor alınmayan çalışmalar farklı bir hakeme daha 
gönderilir. 
26. Yazar(lar) uygulama içerikli “DENEYSEL”, “VAKA” ve “KURUMSAL” içerikli araştır-
malarda ETİK KURUL raporu gerektiren çalışmalarında mutlaka çalışmanın sisteme yük-
lenmesi durumunda ETİK KURUL raporunun “TARİHİ” ve “RAPOR BİLGİSİ – RAPOR 
NUMARASI”  çalışma  sisteme  yüklenirken  sistemde  bulunan  “ETİK  KURUL  RAPOR 
BİLGİSİ” kısmına gerekli bilgileri yazmak zorundadır. Olası bir olumsuzluk ve eksiklik 
durumunda dergimiz ulusal ya da uluslararası hukuk kuralları çerçevesinde bir sorumluluk 
yüklenmez. Bu konuda her türlü sorumluluk yazar(lar) aittir. Etik kurul raporu ve araştır-
maya ilişkin resmi bilgiler bulunmakta ise mutlak surette bu bilgiler çalışma sisteme yük-
lenirken girilmelidir. Bu konuda, dergi editörleri, sistem editörleri, yayın kurulu, imtiyaz 
sahibi, yayın yönetmeni, hakem kurulu ve değerlendirme yapan hiçbir hakem yükümlü-
lük ve sorumluluk altında değildir. Oluşabilecek her türlü maddi, manevi ve hukuksal bir 
olumsuzlukta yazar(lar) sorumludur. DERGİMİZ ADINA OLUŞABİLECEK HER TÜR-

PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES
1.   “International Refereed Journal of Design and Architecture” is an international refereed 
journal which publishes academic and scientific articles every four month. But the journal 
has the right to publish special issues out of these periods under certain circumstances. 
2.   Scientific and authentic works which are prepared in the fields of Visual Arts, Design, Arc-
hitecture, Landscape Architecture, and Interior Design are included in the journal. Works 
are expected to have scientific concerns, to contribute to the field, to cite and refer impor-
tant sources within the disciplines, not to have prejudice, not to include slogan-like senten-
ces, and to have been written in a developed language. In addition, they also must have one 
of the qualities of review, research, and developed version of presented papers, etc. 
3.   In the case of works with more than one author, the author stated as the responsible one is 
regarded as addressee. 
4.   Sources used in the works must be prepared according to the publication principles. 
5.   Journal article format of our examples in the journal’s website or article in a recent issue of 
the journal article should be based on the string.
6.   In the process of evaluating articles, ultimate attention is shown to the fact that referee and 
author are not from the same institution. Names of referees and authors are kept secret and 
never revealed. The Referee Board varies in every issue and is reestablished depending on 
the topic of the issue. 
7.   Initially two referees are assigned for each work according to the field. Another third re-
feree can be assigned if one of the referee’s report states “It cannot be published”, and the 
second one states “It can be published after corrected” or “It can be published”, and the 
report of the third referee is considered. Author is asked to carry out corrections only three 
times. If corrections are not made as required in each time, work is refused by the system.
8.   Authors are expected to carry out correction in time and meticulously, and to send the final 
version to the journal within 15 days. If it is found out that corrections are not made as ex-

pected, authors are informed about this situation. Works which are not corrected and sent 
back to the journal in time are not included in the list of works to be published. 
9.   Publication language of our journal is Turkish and English.
10.  Works which are submitted to the journal for publication are expected not to have been pub-
lished somewhere else or not to be in the evaluation process of another publication organ. 
11. Papers which have been presented in an academic national or international scientific mee-
ting, congress, conference or symposium can be accepted and included in the referee pro-
cess on condition that they have not been published in another journal or publication and 
they are appropriate to turn into an article format and content. 
12. Translated texts are accepted and referee process is initiated with the approval of editor(s)-
in-chief and publication board if that text is very rare in Turkish and it is believed that its 
translation will contribute to the literature. However, the number of translated works in 
each issue is limited and authentic works are preferable. 
13. Works submitted to the journal must be prepared in MS Word Program with Times New Ro-
man in 12 pt. in 1.5 space. 3 cm space must be left from top, bottom, right and left margins. 
14. The page number of works must not exceed 15. Page numbers must be written at bottom in 
the middle. Paragraph indent must not be used. 
15. English abstract not exceeding 150 words, 5 key word(s) below abstract must be in works 
prepared in Turkish. Title and key words must be written in the both languages. 
16. Turkish abstract not exceeding 150-200 words, title and key words must be in works pre-
pared in English.
17. Scope, object, method, results and topic of the works must be briefly mentioned in the abs-
tract. 
18. Name(s) of author(s) must be in the cover page. Academic title of the author, his/her work-
place name, address, cell-phone and work phone numbers, fax number and e-mail address 
must be present in the cover page. 
19. Final decision on publication of works belongs to editor(s)-in-chief. Opinions of editor(s)-
in-chief on the work together with referee reports are conveyed to author(s) as soon as 
possible. 
20. Works sent to the journal are not sent back to authors whether they have been published or 
not.

21. All responsibility of works belongs to author(s).
22. Publication and copy rights of published works belong to our journal. Publication right of 
each work uploaded to the system is automatically transferred to the journal by the author. 
For this, there is no need to ask for signing of any copy right agreement with the author. 
Author(s) are considered to have acknowledged this when they have uploaded their work 
to the system. They do not have any right to object. 
23. Author(s) approve that full versions of their works are uploaded to non-commercial electro-
nic data bases to support national and international information exchange. 
24. “International Refereed Journal of Design and Architecture” is an electronic journal but is 
also published in paper version. Individuals who would like to get printed version of the 
journal can obtain it by paying the necessary fee to the relevant printing company. Our 
journal does not have to provide printed version of the journal to any author or individual. 
Annual membership fee should also be sent to relevant printing company for works sent to 
our journal. This membership fee is collected for only annual printing and other costs of the 
journal. Our journal is not a paid one. 
25. Evaluation process of works uploaded to the system is two months. Works which are not 
evaluated within this period of time and about which information report is not received are 
sent to a different referee. 
26. Author(s)  has  to  upload  “DATE  OF  REPORT”,  “REPORT  INFORMATION-REPORT 
NUMBER” to “ETHICS BOARD REPORT INFORMATION” part of the publication sub-
mission system of the journal in “EXPERIMENTAL, CASE STUDY and INSTITUTIO-
NAL” works requiring ETHICS BOARD report. Our journal is not held liable within the 
framework of national or international legal rules in case of possible unfavourable and 
deficient situation. In such cases, every responsibility belongs to author(s). If ethics board 
report and official information related to the research is available while uploading the work 
to the system, such information must be entered into the system. In such case, editors of 
the journal, system editors, editorial board, publisher, editorial director, referees board and 
any referees evaluating works cannot be held liable and responsible. Author(s) are held res-
ponsible in any possible material, moral and legal unfavourable situation. OUR JOURNAL 
UNILATERALLY RESERVES ITS LEGAL RIGHTS NATIONALLY AND INTERNATI-
ONALLY IN CASE OF ANY MATERIAL, MORAL AND LEGAL “UNFAVOURABLE” 
SITUATION WHICH MAY OCCUR AGAINST OUR JOURNAL.
