Welcome to a great new year at William F. Halloran School No. 22! Although many of us may have
met last year, I wanted to send a special note to introduce myself before the hustle and bustle of
September begins: my name is Mr. Ojeda and I will be your fifth grade homeroom teacher … and your
social studies teacher, too! During the last week of August, I will be calling you at home to check in
and answer any questions that you may have about the new school year. Until then, I would like to
mention the following reminders:
o
The first day of school for students will be Wednesday, September 5th. You will spend most of
the day getting to know your teachers and reviewing class procedures.
o
A mailing from the school should be arriving in the coming weeks with several important school
forms.
Please, please,
please bring these forms with you on the first day of school.
o
Just in case it was misplaced, I have posted the fifth grade summer reading assignment in the
“My Class” section of my website. You can find it by going to
www.annikeris.com
and clicking
on the red button labeled “My Class.” If you have trouble accessing the site, try doing a Google
search for “Mr. Ojeda’s Class;” you should find it pretty easily.
I look forward to speaking with you soon. I leave tomorrow on a plane to Portugal and I will be
backpacking across the Iberian Peninsula to Barcelona, Spain with a few friends … and yes, I am very
excited! This is my first time ever leaving the United States! I have included a postcard with this letter
and I would love to hear about how your summer has been going. Just write me a quick note and drop it
in your closest mailbox; this will definitely give me something to look forward to when I return on
August 19.
Take care of yourself and enjoy the rest of your August. Please do not think twice about emailing me or
calling my homework hotline voicemail if you have any questions. I will absolutely get back to you as
soon as I return!
Best wishes,
Mr. Michael Ojeda
