Work Travel USA J1 Visa Service 

Participant Contract & Terms and Conditions 

with Ayusa-Intrax GmbH 

as a partner with and on behalf of Intrax Cultural Exchange 

for the Work & Travel USA Independent Placement Program 

 

1.  General outline of the contract  

Ayusa-Intrax GmbH (hereinafter named “Ayusa-Intrax”) has placed Participant with the 

Program (as defined below in Section 3) as partner with and on behalf of Intrax Cultural 

Exchange d/b/a Intrax Work Travel (hereinafter named “IWT”), 600 California Street, Floor 10, 

San Francisco, CA 94108. 

 

 

2.  Visa Regulations and program rules 

Participant is required to apply for and obtain a J1 Visa. Intrax will be the sponsor organization 

for the J1 Visa for this Program. Participant is solely responsible for application and 

compliance with all visa and entry requirements when applying for a J1 Visa. 

The duration of the Intrax Work & Travel program has been stipulated by the American 

authorities to a maximum of four (4) months with fixed start and end dates for each country. 

Due to US visa regulations you are allowed to stay a maximum of another 30 days in the USA 

after you have successfully completed the Intrax Work & Travel program (grace period). The 

grace period can only be used for leisure purposes, such as travelling, but not for working. 

In the event that you do not follow the program rules in the USA, you will be dismissed from 

the program, your visa will be cancelled and you will have to leave the USA within 14 days of 

dismissal. 

 

 

3.  Program Fees for Work Travel USA Independent Placement Program 2018 

The program fee is 

 

1 – 4 months: 840 € 

and is valid until a new price has been set in place. 

 

 

4.  Payment of Program Fees 

The full amount of the program fees is due with receipt of the invoice. We will invoice you 

after we have received your complete application documents and after we have conducted a 

skype/webcam interview with you. 

 

 

5.  Services 

  Services & benefits included: 

  Provision of documents necessary to apply for a J1 visa (DS-2019) 

  SEVIS Fee for visa application (currently $35) 

  Medical Insurance according to J1 visa regulations 

  IWT Online Work & Travel Handbook and other program information 

  Advice, support and pre-departure preparation through Ayusa-Intrax 

  Toll free 24-hour emergency number in the USA 

  Certificate upon Completion 

 

Not included: 

  Visa application fee (currently $160. The visa fee must be paid directly to the US Embassy 

in your home country)

6.  Contract of Participation 

The contract regarding the participation in the Work & Travel program will be solely concluded 

with the company IWT. A detailed account of all conditions of participation of the program is 

set out in the contract “Intrax Work Travel Participant Terms & Conditions” which you can 

read before on our website. You will sign these online later in the process.  

Included in this document is an overview regarding withdrawal and reimbursement of 

programme fees.  

 

 

7.  Job Contract 

You are hereby advised that your employer is your contract partner in regard to your job and 

your work locally. Furthermore your job contract is subject to local laws and regulations. 

 

Please note that neither Ayusa-Intrax nor the company IWT have any influence on the 

demeanour of the local employer. Therefore, program fees cannot be reimbursed in the event 

of termination of job contract by the employer. This rule is also applicable if Intrax cannot 

offer you a new job placement or if you find yourself another summer job respectively. 

 

Furthermore, a claim for reimbursement cannot be submitted if you have been dismissed from 

 program by the company Intrax or if you voluntarily terminate the program. 

 

Any complaints during the program should be communicated promptly and directly either to 

us, or to our local partner.

8.  Refund Policy 

 

 

Applicant cancelled after skype/webcam

9.  Data Protection and Consent to Data Collection, Processing, and Use 

 

1)  In order to be able to successfully place participants in the work & travel program, to issue the 

DS-2019 preliminary visa document, and to fulfil the services described in  

§ 5 (Work & Travel USA) 

of the participation contract, Ayusa-Intrax must collect and process a variety of personal data. 

Detailed information on the purposes and scope of the data collection, processing, and use can 

be found in the accompanying “Information Sheet for Participants in the Work Travel Program - 

Collection and Processing of Personal Data by Ayusa-Intrax.” The program participant is aware 

that this is a part of the contract and is only printed out separately for the purpose of clarity. 

 

2)  For the purpose of conducting the application procedure, for issuance of the DS-2019 

preliminary visa document for the USA, and for placement in a suitable company locally, Ayusa-

Intrax must pose questions to the program participant regarding his or her health that are 

answered through self-disclosure. This includes, for example, information on general health 

status and pre-existing conditions. 

 

  The data will be transmitted to partner organizations to the extent necessary for placement in a 

suitable company locally, for issuance of the DS-2019 preliminary visa document for the USA, 

and for the support of the program participant in the host country. In individual cases 

participation in the program may not be possible due to health restrictions. Upon signing this 

contract the program participant agrees to the collection, processing, and use of this special 

category of personal data.  

 

3)  To aid the search for a company in the host country, in addition to your CV, information from 

the registration form will be transmitted to the local partner organization. This includes first 

name, surname, address, age, country of origin, nationality, contact details, and a brief 

description of the program  

 

participant based on a telephone interview. The program participant agrees to the transmission 

of this information by signing this contract. This does not relate to the J-1 visa service for work 

& travel summer jobs found independently. 

 

4)  The submission of the following declaration of consent is voluntary and consent given can be 

withdrawn at any time. Without this consent, however, participation in the application 

procedure and in the work & travel program by placement in a summer job through Ayusa-Intrax 

is generally not possible.  

 

 

 

CONSENT TO DATA COLLECTION, PROCESSING, AND USE 

 

Upon signing this contract I agree that information about my health (e.g., pre-existing conditions) 

will be collected, processed, and used by Ayusa-Intrax GmbH during the application process 

and will be transmitted to the partner organisation in each host country to the extent 

specifically necessary for participation in the work & travel program, for issuance of the DS-

2019 preliminary visa document, and for the search for and placement in a work & travel 

summer job with a company in accordance with the accompanying “Information Sheet for

Upon signing this contract, I further agree that the local partner organization, pursuant to the 

accompanying “Information Sheet for Participants in the Work & Travel Program: Collection 

and Processing of Personal Data by Ayusa-Intrax” will forward some information from my 

application to companies.  This does not relate to the J-1 visa service for summer jobs found 

independently.
