About The HEDC
The HEDC serving the city of Hidalgo is a non profit Organization established to
market Hidalgo as a premier location for business prosperity. The HEDC has a
core cultural focus while supporting local initiatives through history, cultural arts,
entertainment, redevelopment (Historical Old Hidalgo), Entrepreneurs and small
business development. We strive to create a sustainable and economic
environment that enhances the cultural history of Hidalgo.
About The Nueva Vida Hidalgo Project:
The Nueva Vida Hidalgo Project will focus on Existing building structures that are
already in place by remodeling to the specifications of local entrepreneurs
capturing their ideas, imagination, energy and their passion in such a way
changing the culture and economy of our community.
What The Nueva Vida Hidalgo Project is looking for:
Supporting areas of cultural and economic advancement through our Small
Business Program, Cultural Arts and Music & Entertainment. Revitalizing Historic
Old Hidalgo into a destination spot of the RGV.
Small Business Program: foster job creation and support the growth of new businesses by
providing capacity building resources and financial solutions for our local community’s
entrepreneurial spirit.
Cultural Arts: encourage a strong cultural economy through cultural development and public
art.
Music & Entertainment: serve as a resource on live music issues and attract emergent music
development programs within our community and historical areas.
How Nueva Vida Hidalgo Project Would Work:
Buildings would be remodeled on tenant needs with HEDC monies. Rent would be based
on how much HEDC put into building and the tenant length of lease contract (minimum 3
yrs.) so we can recoup that money.
Tenant may also apply if needed for an IRP (Intermediary relending program) loan as
customary for working capital, equipment, furniture & fixtures.
