Regional & Centre Level

NoteS

  1. In the past, there were too many programs at Region level. There were duplication. The small and same group of Centre members were challenged to facilitate programs at centre, regional, national level. Was time consuming and funding challenges. Year Plan was over loaded. Family time compromised.

  2. The emphasis from 2018 will be on building the Centre level base, where numbers and confidence levels have declined.

  3. The Organisational structure is simplified with fewer number of Regions, with the emphasis being on Centres becoming the primary area of focus for programs and personal transformation opportunities. The SSIO Guidelines p.17 states: “ The Sathya Sai Centre is the principle instrument through which the goals of the SSIO are achieved”.

  4. National Coordinators/Officers (NO) should be providing support to the Regional President (RP).

  5. Regional President role is one of support.

  • There should be selected Quarterly Regional or National programs.

  • RP should co-ordinate Quarterly Regional activities (e.g. Blood donation, Mahashivaratri, an approved significant seva or public outreach program, Akhanda Bhajan, SSE or SSEHV training).

  • There should be Quarterly Regional Meetings of Centre Presidents to discuss and share insights on how to help devotees grow in their spiritual education / devotion.

  1. NP, NO, RP should be visible within the Regions in a support role; having time to travel.

A Sathya Sai leader should possess the following attributes:

1. Ability (have the skills to perform the task);

2. Availability (have the time, interest and enthusiasm to participate);

3. Affability (be cheerful, have a positive attitude and be a good team player); and

4. Accountability (they are accountable to Sathya Sai Baba and the SSIO and so discharge their duties righteously, lovingly and with self-sacrifice for the benefit of all members and devotees).
