NATURALISTIC TURN: PUTTING METAPHYSICS FIRST
The paper aims to illustrate one of the main features of the naturalistic turn – overcoming of the sceptic’s challenge by «putting metaphysics first» (M. Devitt). The sceptic’s argument is viewed as a consequence of the wrong direction of thought from a priori epistemology and/or semantics to a priori metaphysics. The naturalistic turn gives us a chance to give up the sceptic’s argumentation by allowing to argue from empirical metaphysics to empirical epistemology and/or semantics. Various examples of the advantage of the naturalized view are given. In particular, it is shown how to avoid scepticism, which is a follow-up of the indetermination and underdetermination problems and constructivist ideology.

Keywords: naturalistic turn, scepticism, semantic priority, underdetermination, constructivism, realism.
The main text of the article. Bibliographic references are formatted as follows: books, articles – [Rawls, 1995], citations – [Horton, 2006. P. 427]. The text of the article may contain footnotes at the bottom of the page, with numbers starting with 1. For example, …1. The second example2. Links to Internet sources can also be used as footnotes, for example3. The text of the article may contain the dash of one kind only, the so-called “short dash” (keys combination: CTRL + Num-). As a punctuation mark the dash requires spaces on both sides, if it denotes an interval the dash requires no blank spaces (2–3, 1920–1940; but with a commentary: end of 1920 – beginning of 1921.).
