Anchor: a heavy device attached by a cable to a vessel and cast overboard to keep the vessel from drifting by becoming secured to the bottom.

Flag: a piece of cloth, esp. bunting, often attached to a pole or staff, decorated with a design and used as an emblem, symbol, or standard or as a means of signalling

Hull: the hollow lowermost portion of a ship.

Keel: the base at the bottom of the hull of a boat, usually a long metal or wooden bar, that extends from the back to the front and from which the sides are built

Main mast: the principal mast on a sailing ship.

Rudder: a vertical blade at the rear of a ship or plane that can be turned to control direction

Sail: a piece of canvas (triangular or square) on a ship to catch the wind and propel the vessel

Rudder: a vertical blade at the rear of a ship or plane that can be turned to control direction.

Captain’s cabin: a captain’s room in the ship

Quarterdeck: the part of the deck of a vessel from midship to the stern.

Main mast: the principal mast on a sailing ship.

Foremast: the mast nearest the bow of a vessel.

Fighting top: one of the gun platforms on the lower masts of sailing men-of-war, used in attacking the crew of an enemy ship with swivel guns and muskets

Jib boom: a spar forming a continuation of a bowsprit.

Bowsprit: spar projecting from the upper end of the bow of a sailing vessel, for holding the tacks of various jibs or stays and often supporting a jib boom

Fo’c’sle: a structure sticking up at or immediately aft of the bow of a vessel.
