Included in the above entitlement is one concessionary day applicable to employees in post on 25th December which may be taken during the Christmas period, plus the two former extra-statutory days.


Purpose of Role


  • To be responsible for all technical aspects of the School’s SIMS database

  • To lead and manage the School’s data management function ensuring that systems are up to date and fit for purpose

  • To prepare, produce and deliver data required by the School in its day to day work


Duties


  • To maintain the SIMS data base and provide all SIMS users with the necessary support/training to use SIMS effectively

  • To conduct the annual promotion of data

  • To input all pupil data and update when necessary

  • To manipulate and transfer relevant student data via S2S or by external agencies onto SIMS

  • Be responsible for the accurate and timely input of all attendance data on a day to day basis and liaise with Parents/carers over lateness and absences

  • To prepare accurate reports on attendance and behaviour when required

  • To ensure that all relevant documentation required by external agencies (including census return) is completed and submitted on time

  • To attend meetings as required on attendance/data

  • To record Support Staff absences on SIMS

  • To maintain/update all staff information on SIMS

  • To administer other School databases (Schoolcomms)

  • To take responsibility for other areas as may be reasonably requested by the Head Teacher

Human Resources Manager

Purpose of Role
To lead and manage by providing professional skills and technical capabilities, specialist subject knowledge (including employment legislation) integrity in decision making and operational activity that is required for the effective operations of Human Resource Management at Ronald Ross Primary School
Duties


  • To ensure that the school meets its statutory employment, equality, health and safety obligations.

  • Liaise as and when appropriate with the LA personnel, legal departments, and other statutory and professional bodies

  • Complete the annual Workforce census

  • To take an advisory and proactive role in the strategic management of staffing at Ronald Ross Primary school to the Head teacher and governing body.

  • To lead and proactively fill vacant posts with high calibre staff jointly with the Head teacher.

  • To lead and maintain procedures to ensure that Safeguarding of children (including the maintenance of a single central record)

  • To be responsible for maintenance of up-to-date accurate personnel records in accordance with statutory and audit requirements.


Specific Duties





  • To work with the Head teacher to ensure that staffing levels are sufficient to deliver the curriculum of the school in an efficient and cost effective way.

  • To prepare effective recruitment materials including job descriptions, person specifications, advertisements and information packs for candidates which reflect the school in a positive light.

  • To service the short listing panel and provide them with references and other documentation as required.

  • Ensure effective communication with candidates throughout the interview process. Upon appointment arrange for the appropriate documentation to be completed and statutory requirements (including safeguarding checks) are met.

  • Lead and manage the induction process for all new staff at all levels to ensure all regulations are met.

  • To track and monitor staff absence and service governors staffing committees with reports as appropriate




  • To lead and manage good absence management control including return to work interviews, setting up occupational health interviews – work to reduce the impact of long term absence in line with school policy

  • Working alongside SBM, ensure school policies are in line with local and national statutory guidance are updated. Ensure the pay policy, recruitment policies and absence policies are reviewed annually.

  • Ensure all staffing appointments and conditions of service are communicated effectively to the SBM for budget purposes.

  • Interpret and advise on all legislation pertaining to staffing.

Strong set of GCSE equivalent qualifications including C grade or higher (or equivalent) in Maths and English A level /
