St. Haralambos Parish Council
PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Dear Parishioners,
Christos Anesti!
As I look back over the past four months, we have been extremely busy at the church.
From our Name Day celebration to Metropolis Seminars to the GOYA Basketball Tourna-
ment and the Hellenic Dancer’s Talent Show, the church has not been quiet. First, I would
like to congratulate our GOYA for hosting another successful basketball and volleyball
seasons. Also, I would like to thank our GOYA, advisers and coaches for their hard work
planning and running a very successful basketball tournament. I also would like to thank
our Philoptochos for their generous donation of $3,000.00 to be used for our Greek Fest.
Next, I would like to take this time to thank Father Nick, Deacon Keric Shiepis, Bill Poulos
Jr., Dean Darrah, the Altar Boys, Cantors, Choir and the Parish Council members for their
dedication during Holy Week. Also, I would like to thank everyone who donated items for
Pascha and to those who decorated our sanctuary and Epitaphion for our Holy Week and
Pascha services. Everything was beautifully decorated.
The Canton Greek Fest is almost here! As a reminder, the dates for this year’s Greek Fest
are June 5, 6, 7. As you may notice we have changed the name from the “Summerfest”
to the “Canton Greek Fest.” After 30 years we are making changes. There will no longer
be rides or games this year. We are adding a Drive Thru, Live Music, Greek Cooking
Demonstrations, and Greek Dance Lessons as well as a new layout for the outside and
inside areas. This year we need everyone’s help. If you would like to help in any area,
please contact the church office, Mike Fakelis, Peter Papadopulos, Mike Paxos or myself.
Personally, I would like to encourage our younger parishioners to please volunteer your
time. Every little bit of help is greatly appreciated. The success of our Greek Fest and
Parish depends upon the hard work of all our community.
God Bless,
Ron A Darrah
