STATE OF TEXAS IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURT

COUNTY OF LEON OF LEON COUNTY, TEXAS
On this the 18^th day of August, 2014, the Commissioners Court of Leon County, Texas, met for a special called budget meeting at 1:30 p.m. with the following members present:
Byron Ryder – County Judge

Joey Sullivan – Commissioner Pct. No. 1

David Ferguson – Commissioner Pct. No. 2

Dean Stanford– Commissioner Pct. No. 3

David Grimes – Commissioner Pct. No. 4
Together with County Auditor Linda McDonald, Assistant Auditor Melissa Abney, and County Treasurer Brandi Hill.
1. OPEN MEETING WITH PRAYER AND PLEDGES.
Judge Ryder opened the meeting with prayer; pledges to the American and Texas flag were rendered.
2. BUDGET WORKSHOP SESSION.
Mr. Loveless with MHSC Energy Management presented his estimate for the county jail building. Discussion. Commissioner Ferguson made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Sullivan to sign the contract with MHSC Energy Management for the jail building only, and to move $31,256 to the Sheriff’s Repair and Maintenance budget, with the stipulation that upon receipt of the expected $6,667 rebate from Oncor is placed into the Other Revenue line in the General Fund.
MOTION CARRIED.

County Treasurer Brandi Hill proposed changing the delivery method of the pay stubs, as well as a proposal to change the employment conditions to make direct deposit a requirement and to grandfather existing employees who currently are not enrolled. This will be addressed in the next regular meeting

County Auditor Linda McDonald gave a report on the search for other vendors for computer services. The search continues.

Commissioner Sullivan will move $65,000 from his oil/sand budget and place $25,000 into his part time budget and $40,000 into the 811 full time salary budget.

3. ADJOURN

Commissioner Sullivan made the motion, seconded by Commissioner Stanford to adjourn.
