Hi Callum,
Thanks for getting back to me, how can I create a ticket for this online on your community support group?
Thanks,

Aziza

Hi,

This is approaching the top of my list, I should have time to work on it in the next couple of days and I will let you know the results once that work has been completed.

Hi Callum,

Any news on how the Jython configuration is going?

Thanks,

Ah, thanks for providing that detailed repro - this will give us enough to construct additional guards for the environment data which is not available under Jython. The work for this will be scheduled and conducted in the sprint (fortnight). I will get back to you when this has been completed.

Hi again,

So attached to the email is a basic Python script I'm using to generate an exception, I'm running it with Jython though because the main application I'm building will be dealing with the Nifi ExecuteScript processor. I used the jython-standalone-2.7.0.jar to run the script with this command java -jar jython-standalone-2.7.0.jar exce.py and I get the following error:

Hello,

Up until now we haven't received any reports or requests to use Raygun4py under Jython, and I myself don't have any experience with it, but we can take a look at the requirements needed to support this for you. I notice that Jython claims compatibility with Py 2.7, this is fully supported by Raygun4PY so if the differences aren't too great we can extend the provider to accomodate this environment.

If the changes needed are more extensive then a dedicated provider may be required, this would be dependent on customer demand, but we'll know more about this once we have investigated the possible implementation for you. In the event that the error you're seeing is due to runtime bugs/incompatibility with py27 the place to raise them would be at the Jython project, but we'll know whether this is the case soon and I will advise you of this in the event that it is.

Firstly, could you please provide the error message and backtrace for the error in raygunprovider.py, and details about the repro (e.g method of sending/how the exception was raised and sent). We will then debug the provider for you and get back with the results in the near term.

Hi Nick!

Just wanted to know if it's possible to use Raygun with a Jython application? And if so which version because I'm running a Jython script to send it's errors to Raygun and it's giving me an error in the Raygunprovider.py class because of syntax that is different from Jython.

Thanks,
Aziza
