Finding Meaning in Life

Reflections on the

Teaching of Viktor Frankl

Saturday,

September 26, 2015

9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Presented by Central Pennsylvania Institute for Mental Health (CPIMH)

Finding Our Purpose
Spiritual leaders and philosophers increasingly speak of the vital importance for humans to find a meaning and purpose in life. Mental health specialists have documented the devastating effect when individuals suffer a loss of meaning.
Viktor Frankl, a Viennese psychiatrist, wrote of this search from the depths of his suffering and loss in Nazi concentration camps, and offered guidelines to find meaning and purpose in life.
This symposium will offer an opportunity to become acquainted with Dr. Frankl’s life and contributions in a brief presentation by Dr. George Simms, a former student of Dr. Frankl.
This will be followed by several testimonials of panel members in their personal search for meaning.
The symposium will conclude with an opportunity for questions and discussion.
