The IIA Document Upload Portal Instructions

These instructions are intended as a reference tool for Chapter leaders to upload any IIA related Chapter documents to your SharePoint website.

Adding a document.


  1. After signing in, Click on the Members Only tab



  1. Then click on the Leaders Only button



In the center of the page you will see the Chapter Leaders Documents.

Select from one of the five folders you would like your file stored, look to the right of your screen for suggested placement of files.

3. Click on the folder where the document should reside.



  1. When the folder opens click on the Add new item link



A Chapter Documents-Upload Document dialog box appears



  1. Click on the browse button to look on your hard drive for the document you want to upload.

Once the link to the document appears in the Name field

  1. Click on the OK button.



  1. A new dialog box will appear. Fill out the following fields:




  1. Name* - Will automatically fill in with the file name including the extension (.doc , .xls,)

  2. Title* - The title of the document

  3. Content Source – click on the drop down menu and select article, price list, instructions, whatever fits

  4. Author – Enter the name of the document author if there is one

  5. Summary – a brief summary of what the document is.

  6. Save – After the above fields have been filled in click on Save

8. When the document(s) have been loaded go to the top of the page and click on “Back to Document Upload Portal.”


To delete a document


1. Open the folder in which the document you no longer wish to use resides.

2. When you see the list of documents, hover over the Name you wish to delete.



3. You should see a little arrow to the left of the name. Click on it.
4. A drop-down box should appear. At the bottom you should see X Delete.





To move a document


The best way to move a document is to upload it to the spot you want to move it to and then go and delete it from the place it was originally loaded to.

Create a New Folder


On the Leaders Only page click on Site Actions, Edit Page.

  1. Place your cursor in the Chapter Leader Documents sections but do not select any of the existing folders.

  2. Click on the Documents tabs at the top of the page.

  3. Click on New Folder

The New Folder dialog box will appear.


4. Type the name of the folder in the Name * field and click on Save.

The folder will then appear at the bottom of the list.



Publish the page.
