  1. PlayPosit

This tool allows teachers to create interactive videos for your flipped classroom. It is a very useful web-based platform that allows you to build formative assessments right on top of any YouTube or Vimeo video. Previously, it was named Edu Canon. When you create your account there it gives you a lesson builder where you can create your lesson and share it with your students. It is the perfect tool if you are willing to use the method of flipped teaching. Students can work on tasks that are monitored by the teacher. When you sign up as a teacher, you create class lists, then assign lessons to these classes. As students complete a lesson, you are given a question-by-question breakdown of their responses.

  1. Build Your Wild Self

The best part about this tool is that you don’t need to sign up or create an account. It has an easy interface and students can develop their creativity and it is useful for learning body parts and clothes. When they open the link that leads to the tool, students can choose their human parts including gender, hair, eyes, mouth, and clothes. Then students can choose from a wide array of animal parts to create their own weird and wonderful creation. After they have created their avatar there is as well an option to print it out. A substantial number of activities can be developed from the usage of this tool. Children can create a story about their new wild selves or show different wild selves and children can try to guess which animal parts you have used. Also, students can create a zoo photo album with their wild selves and their descriptions. They can even create their own “wild self-zoo” on the bulletin board.

  1. Story Jumper

A great tool to bring a story to life. This tool allows your students to create virtual books. They can use different fonts and text boxes, props to be used as characters and scenes to be used in the background of the pages of the book. But, in my opinion, the best and most interesting feature that this tool offers are the opportunity to narrate their own story with the visual support of the virtual book. As a teacher, you can ask your students to read a few different stories in English. Then, you can pick up different characters from those stories and create a new one using StoryJumper. You should have in mind that you must teach them how to use this tool before they plunge into it. Making your own story sample and reading it with your students before they have to create a new one would be a good idea to show them the tool. Once they have finished their stories, they can share it with the class.
