Frequently Asked Questions
Is this program covered by financial aid?

Hampshire financial aid will cover the field study fee, but not the program tuition.

Can my student loans be used to cover the tuition?

It is possible that your loans may be used to cover the tuition. Because each student’s loan package is different, you need to consult with the financial aid office to get a definite answer.

How does this compare to the Hampshire tuition?

Estimated fall semester tuition at Hampshire is $30,980.

Do I have to live in the program housing?

No. While there are many benefits to living in the program housing, you are not obligated to do so. If you have inexpensive or free housing nearby, you will save money by living there.

Do I have to do one of the internships associated with the Washington Center?

No. If you have a DC area internship in mind, the Washington Center will assist you in interning there, as long as the internship duties and level of supervision meet the Program standards.

What if I am not a member of a group that historically has been underrepresented in my field or I am not doing an internship related to sustainability? Do I have a chance at getting a scholarship?

Yes. There are many factors that go into the decision-making, and all applicants will be considered.

I am applying to other internship programs as well. If I apply to this, am I obligated to accept?

By applying for the program and the scholarship, you are not obligated to attend or accept. However, if you DO choose to accept, you are obligated to follow through with your acceptance. Please apply only if you are serious. CORC counselors are available to answer questions and help you decide if this is the right program for you.
