Notasuch Films proudly presents ‘The old road to Dublin’, a documentary film and online comedy documentary about social attitudes, improved infrastructure, the new Ireland, our cultural heritage and drink!

We follow popular TV and Radio presenter Joe Lindsay, respected IT expert and family man Kristian Kinnaird and Psychiatric nurse David James as they are driven from Belfast to Dublin, along the old road, on a quest to discover why the journey was once such an event. They have a designated driver of course!
In an age where more of us are time poor rather than cash poor, the guys want to find out how much Ireland’s new affluence has impacted on the soul of our society. Has the Celtic Tiger ripped the heart out of the country or is it a myth that money can’t buy happiness! All of these questions and more will be answered as the lads stop for a pint in nearly every pub along the ‘The old road to Dublin’ - debating the issue with locals along the way and meeting characters displaying the best and worst we Irish have to offer the world.
Produced and Directed by Kate Southwell and Vincent Kinnaird.
Producer Kate Southwell says:
‘I think this is a great project It’s got us all talking and thinking about issues that effect us, and it’s great craic.’
Director Vincent Kinnaird says:
‘Through this film we’ve learned that society has changed and our values are more materialistic – but essentially the Irish heart is still the same’
Presenter Joe Lindsay said:
‘Why wouldn’t you take the path less trodden, it’s strange and wonderful and full of amazing characters – that’s the old road to Dublin.’
To check out their journey or contribute to the discussion log on now to www. theoldroadtodublin.com .
The film will have its first public screening in the downstairs screening room at the Garrick Bar in Chichester Street on Thurdsay 26th June at 8.00pm.
