Board Meeting – October 19, 2015 – Page


The Regular Meeting of the Bryan City School District Board of Education was held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 7:00PM in the Mose A. Isaac Field House Conference Room.

ATTENDANCE


The Board Members present at roll call were Emily Ebaugh, Cindra Keeler, Tom Lingvai, and Ryan Miller.
Administrators present were: Diana Savage, Rob Rosswurm, Mark Rairigh, Chad Bassett, Eric Ruffer, Karyn Cox and Scott Huard. Guests in attendance included: Josh Ewers of the Bryan Times, Char Miller of Bryan Municipal Utilities, Rex Lawrence, May Beth Snider Rich Tavierne, Kim Snavely, Tacha Rohrer, Kiera Myers, Mark Rhodes, Deb Rhodes, Dennis Riehle, Kermit Riehle, Bob Lloyd, Juliet Stockman, and Mike Stockman.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES Exhibit A 100-15


Emily Ebaugh moved and Tom Lingvai seconded a motion to approve the minutes of the September 21st, 2015 regular board meeting and October 6th, 2015 special board meeting.
Roll Call ~ Ayes: Keeler, Lingvai, Miller, Newcomer, and Ebaugh. Nays: None. Abstain: None.

Thereupon, President declared the motion duly approved.


PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

Mrs. Kim Snavely addressed the Board to follow up on the meeting held in executive session with the board on September 21, 2015. She stated that they had not heard back from the board after that meeting and would like a formal response from the board. Mr. Newcomer stated that the board has shared their information with our attorney and will get back to them with a response.

TREASURER’S REPORT Exhibit D

The Treasurer presented the financial report for the month of September, 2015 with the Farmers & Merchants State Bank balance of $14,372,845.77; outstanding checks and adjustments of $238,481.98; Star Ohio $3,232,589.72; State Bank $4,006,711.87; Morgan Stanley $35,531,271.27; Petty Cash: Rob Rosswurm $500.00, and Eric Ruffer $4,000.00 and change funds $3,250.00. Total Treasurer’s balance $56,912,686.65.

OLD BUSINESS

Construction Project Update:

  • Mr. Lingvai reported that the delivery of precast concrete to support the second floor level has been delayed from September 23 to November 2. This has slowed the progress of masonry.

  • Steel is being set and roof decking is being installed on the gymnasium.

  • Weather will be a critical element moving forward, possibly impacting roof installation in late December.

  • The construction schedule has been adjusted due to the late precast delivery.

  • Overall, the project is moving along well despite delays in precast material delivery.
