Brother Jagadeesan

Brother Jagadeesan hails from Malaysia. Even while holding many international portfolios, he never lost his focus on social and spiritual work bestowed upon him by Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

He is actively involved in service for the needy, inter-faith activities and the promotion of Human Values in Society. He is the recipient of many honours/awards. Among them is the title of Dato’ (1996), (equivalent to Sir in UK) which was awarded by the Sultan of a Malaysian State for significant National Service to the Nation.

The Malaysian Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry offered an Award for companies doing significant Social Service. The called it the “Dato Jegathesan Award for Social Service”. In 2008 nominations went from 4 nations (USA, Zambia, Japan and Malaysia) for him to be awarded the Nobel Prize for his work, both professional and Social. He was an “also ran”…Al Gore(US VP) won that year.



Bro. Jagadeesan’s current professional portfolio:

In 1999, after retiring from Malaysian Government Services, as Deputy DG of the National Investment Promotion Agency , he has served as:



  • a Senior Consultant and Investment Advisor for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and also MIGA (Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency) of World Bank.



  • From 2006 to Mid 2012, he served as Sr EconomiC Advisor to the Japanese Government Agency called JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) that focused on Asia Africa Economic and Business Linkages and the specific target nation was Zambia.

CURRENTLY, he works as a Private Consultant for companies seeking help on Trade & Investment matters. His portfolio of social and spiritual work (past and present) includes:

  • Member of the Original “World Council of Sathya Sai Organizations” (past) (This was with Dr Bhgavantham, Rajmatha , Sri Indulal etc…and transformed many times to the Present World Organization).

  • First World Youth Coordinator to the International Sathya Sai Baba Organization (past)

  • One of the Original faculty of the International “Education in Human Values” programme. (past)

  • First Sai Central Coordinator for the ASEAN region. (past)

  • Founding member and first President (1980) of the Sathya SAI Central Council of Malaysia. Currently he serves as Advisor.

  • In Fulfilling Bhagavan Baba’s call for Inter Faith Unity he became the Founding Member and Advisor of the Malaysian “Friendship Group for Inter Religious Service” (FGIS) . This is an Inter Faith Alliance, formed 11 years ago, that has brought together Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist and Sikh Religious bodies to undertake Human Values and Service activities. The Malaysian Sathya Sai Council serves as Chairman to this FGIS, though we have offered others to take over the chairmanship.

The Malaysian Government (majority Muslim) “Department of National Unity in the Prime Ministers Department”, recognising the invaluable service undertaken by the FGIS, now Funds most of Its activities.

  • In fulfilling Bhagavan Baba’s call that a “Hindu must become a better Hindu “ etc. , he worked with Hindu Organizations and launched movements to motivate Hindus to higher ideals:



  1. T.R.A.C. (Tradition, Religion, Aspiration and Culture) to impart knowledge about Hinduism Hindu Youth and Young adults. This has gone to many nations (USA, Australia, UK, Zambia etc.) ( To promote Gnana Yoga :Knowledge aspect of Religion)( A seperate Chinese TRAC for Chinese has been formed in Malaysia)

  2. ATMAH (Action To Mobilize All Hindus/Humanity) to motivate Hindus to undertake service to the needy, for all races and religions in Malaysia. The ATMAH initiative was also introduced to USA & Australia. (To promote Karma Yoga : Service aspect of Religion).

  3. DIVINE WIND (Deiva Thendral) to invoke Bhakthi among Youth, through a Devotional Singing Orchestra. Launched initially in Australia, the Youth coined the name RHYTHM (Reigniting Hinduism (Humanity) in Youth Through Music.) A Malaysian RHYTHM is now being formed. ( To promote Bhakti Yoga : Devotional aspect of Religion).

Brother Jega also sings and has been inspired to compose close to 1300 songs dedicated to Divinity and Human Values in both English , Tamil and just Namavalli type songs. He has also produced tapes / CDs of Bhajan / spiritual / religious songs that he considers are Sai Baba’s gift to him.

He has to-date authored many books and publications which are sold internationally. Other than his “Journey to GOD series (Vol 1 to 4) that talks about Bhagavan Baba, Miracles and Messages and SAI adventures, he has authored books for Public consumption. Among these:



  1. Unity of Faiths (a Comparative Study of 11 Religions)

  2. Sparks of the Divine Fire : Glimpses of the Vedas.

  3. EVOLUTION : Science & Spiritually.

  4. Everyday Human Values.

  5. Unleashing the Power of the Human Mind.

(The books in (d) and (e) are compilations of the writings he used to offer to one of Malaysia’s Leading English Newspapers every fortnight for close to 3 years. Every article was accompanied with a cartoon that reflected the theme of the article.)

Several DVDs (movie style) have been released:



  1. Three DVDs called “HINDUISM: THE MOVIE” explaining the Science of Hindu Symbolisms, the inner significance of the Hindu Religion, God Forms etc.

  2. MOTHERS LOVE…based on a song “Is there Love in this world greater than Mother”

  3. ENVIRONMENT : Based on a Song where Nature says “Help Me to help you”

  4. KALI YUGA AVATHAR: Based on a Song on the magnificence and majesty of the Sai Avathar.
