Academy  of Science Presidents’ Meeting,  which  was  held at the  Kyoto International 

Conference Center on 6th October, 2014. 

 

      We felt it was so productive and informative that the meeting could provide a platform 

where we discussed what roles scientific academies and/or institutions should play to reduce 

and prevent research misconduct. 

 

      A  wide variety of remarks  and  lively discussions with  exchanges of relevant 

information and opinion from diverse viewpoints made us reaffirm that

 

preventing measures 

rather than investigating methods are crucial and effective for science integrity. We deeply 

appreciate your active contributions to this meeting.
