That the Police Services Board Report for February 2017 be accepted as presented.

Inspector June Dobson provided an overview of the report. She reviewed the Calls of Interest, clearance rates, and spoke to the recent information session held at South Grenville District High School on March 10, 2017.
Discussion was held regarding the OPP summer student applications, and viewing an RCMP video on fentanyl at the next Police Services Board meeting.
Inspector Dobson stated that during the month of February, officers conducted 137.75 hours of cruiser patrol, and 12.5 foot patrol hours.
9.1 Speed Spy and Line Painting - Verbal Update
Motion: Todd, Durand
That the Prescott PSB recommend that Council:
-
Add 6 pedestrian lights at King St. and Edward St;

Remove the traffic lights at King St. and Centre St. and install crossing signs and add more visible line painting;

Remove the traffic lights at King St. and George and install crossing signs and add more visible line painting;
-
Add a system similar to the crossing at the high school at King St. and St. Lawrence St (a push button activated crossing) and improve the signage and line painting at this location;

Add line painting, more signage, and a timed push button crossing at Edward St. and Irving; and
-
Add line painting at Edward St. and Churchill St.

Dan Beattie, Director of Public Works & Infrastructure, provided the board with a verbal update. He stated that the line painting on Sophia Street would be completed once a price comparison had been done.
Officer Beaton spoke to traffic lights, crosswalks, and speeds within the Town. He provided the board with a summary on all lights and crosswalks, with details and recommended changes.
Dan Beattie, Director of Public Works & Infrastructure, summarized the presented issues and discussed the steps for moving forward.
Discussion was held regarding the procedure involved with taking a recommendation to Council, the town’s parking spots located near corners, and the cost of maintaining the traffic lights.
10. New Business Inspector June Dobson provided an overview of the 2016 annual report. Discussion was held regarding the recent break and enters and the OPP’s response time.
