Objectives:

-to develop pupil’s speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills;

-to revise vocabulary related to the topic;

-to incorporate group work;

-to broaden pupils’ view

  1. Introduction

T: What are successful people?

What people do we name gifted and talented?

What should we do to become successful people?

Use the following word combinations…..to gain the aim/to achieve results/ to overcome difficulties/ to be brainy and smart/ to change the world/ to be determined and persistent, to be hard working and well organized, to be reliable…
S: To become a successful person I should be well organized and persistent. Of course, I should develop my own plan and gain some aims of my own. In addition, I should overcome some difficulties and achieve some results. To my mind, I should improve my reading, speaking and writing skills to be brainy and smart. Finally, I will attract people and become popular.

T: So thank you very much for your ideas. Now I have something interesting for you…..I have an assistant who is very creative and extraordinary person. Besides, he is very reliable and hard working. Of course, this boy likes English and tries to improve his speaking skills regularly. His sister studies English at our school too. So welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ……. (the pupil’s name)

The first person is as a German-born theoretical physicist who developed the general theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics.[ While best known for his mass–energy equivalence formula E = mc2,he received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect". The latter was pivotal in establishing quantum theory.(Albert Einstein)
He was the commander-in-chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. He presided over the convention that drafted the Constitution, which replaced the Articles of Confederation and established the position of President.

His ideas and body of work—which includes "Virgin of the Rocks," "The Last Supper," "Leda and the Swan" and "Mona Lisa"—have influenced countless artists and made da Vinci a leading light of the Italian Renaissance.
