The Fernando Award Foundation, Inc.

History & Background

The Fernando Award is the highest Award for Volunteerism in the San Fernando Valley and one of the most recognized awards in the United States for Civic Accomplishments.

The Fernando Award was created in 1958 to honor annually, one citizen for their outstanding lifetime of civic support to promote the welfare, safety, and way-of-life of San Fernando Valley residents. The award also creates an image for all Valley residents, especially our youth, to emulate in their everyday life.
It teaches that whether it is in our family life, our business life, or our personal civic life, it benefits everyone to show love and compassion, show an understanding of our neighbors and our business associates; show strength in our leadership and honesty in our everyday activities.
To date, over 150 scholarships have been presented to graduating seniors from our San Fernando schools.
