(T.S.) Elements are scarce and using these elements up will cause trouble. (1.) For instance, two rare earth elements that are in short supply are dysprosium and terbium. (2.)They are scarce because they are two of the elements used in the “green products” industry. (3.)Tiny amounts of dysprosium can make the magnets in electric motors ninety percent lighter. (4.)Terbium is used in lighting and can cut the use of lights by eighty percent. (C.S.) When elements like these are in a shortage is causes problems across the world, the prices rise and they are non-renewable – we can’t get any more.
