Masaaki Tsuya 

Member of the Board 

CEO and Representative Executive Officer; 

Concurrently Chairman of the Board  

 

 

Masaaki Tsuya is Member of the Board, CEO and 

Representative Executive Officer of Bridgestone 

Corporation. He also serves as Chairman of the 

Board for Bridgestone Corporation. 

 

Tsuya joined Bridgestone Corporation in April of 

1976 as member of Office of International Relations, 

and soon began leading International Business 

Relations, Administration and Business Management 

at the company. He was a member of the Firestone 

acquisition team in 1988.  

 

In March of 2012, Tsuya was appointed as CEO and Representative Board Member of 

Bridgestone, a testament to his international business leadership efforts in Japan, 

Europe and United States.  

 

Over the course of his career, he accumulated a wealth of global business and 

corporate management experience through his work in International Relations, Human 

Resources and Public Relations, and has strongly promoted management reforms, 

including strengthening corporate governance, since his appointment as CEO. 

 

He earned his Bachelor

’s

 Degree in Economics from Hitotsubashi University in Japan, 

and has an M.B.A. in International Business from The University of Chicago.
