Learning Hub on Mobilization of Local Faith Communities

Goals:


  • Increase understanding of the role, capacities, activities and contributions of LFCs to community development and humanitarian needs

  • Strengthen empowerment of LFCs as agents of change through increased capacities, resources, and partnerships

  • Position LFCs for opportunities relating to trend towards “localization of aid”


Learning Objectives:

  • What do we know? Gather existing evidence for activity of LFCs—

  • What are the critical gaps in information? Identify key research questions

  • Understand needs of target audiences: LFCs and policymakers

  • Shape next steps for a JLI Learning Hub that delivers against these goals and objectives

III. What are the key research questions or hypotheses do we currently have regarding the effectiveness of the contribution of LFCs? What do we need to know and why? Refer to digest of results from pre-meeting survey of participants regarding key research questions

  • Setting the scene on quality of evidence

  • What we have been doing within FBOs to date (eg qualitative studies, RCTs, hybrid studies) to set the scene for the case studies and bring in some of the broader dialogue around approaches to evidence building

  • How to influence the public square as well as equip LFCs themselves to learn and adapt

  • Overall evidence related to faith and mobilization of LFCs

  • Discussion of what evidence may be needed to support increased faith engagement by policymakers
