MUHSİNE HELİMOĞLU YAVUZ
She graduated Department of Turcology at Faculty of Language, History and Geography in Ankara University in 1972. In the field of Folklore, she got her master's degree with the thesis of Diyarbakır Legends-Motif-Index thesis. She got her Phd with the thesis of Tales' Educational Functions and Post-Index and became a doctor of science. With her book, "Legends of the Diyarbakır-Motif Index" she recieved "Sweden-Stockholm Culture House Research Reward", and with her work "Fairy Tales and their Educational Functions Post-Index", she got "Pertev Naili Boratav Folklore Award". Additionally, she has 8 more awards both in her home country and abroad. In Turkey she worked at the Universities of Dicle, Bilkent and Mimar Sinan and Bahcesehir University. She also gave lectures and conferences as a guest lecturer at the universities of Warsaw, Baku, Kiev, Chisinau, Bucharest, Lefke-Europe, Budapest-ELTE. She has been working on "The People's narratives implicitly through a transaction as a tool for psychotherapy," and "Narrative-Story Analysis" and has been publishing in these fields. She has published 20 books, 64 articles and has 56 papers. A selection of the texts of fairy tales and tongue twisters from her book, "Fairy Tales and Their Educational Functions Post-Index" has been translated into French and been published by Neuf de l’ecole des loisirs publishing house with the name of "CONTES Turcs" in Paris in 2008. Her book ''A Crippled Ant on my Cigaratte'' which consists of Turkish folk tales has been translated into Hungarian and published with the name of “A SZARVAS –SZULTANKISASSZONY TÖRÖK NEPMESEK” by Magyar Naplo publishing house in Budapest in 2011.
