Short Summary Bio (2-3 sentence):

Born in Tokyo in 1958 (year of dog) and raised in Yokohama, I spent 31 years at Mitsui & Co., Ltd., a large trading house for mostly aerospace business. I was an expat in New York and Washington, DC. I started my company Nisshin Global Corp in 2013 to connect Japanese SME to foreign businesses.
Longer (up to 3 paragraphs) description of your experiences, and why you became an Executive Director:

During my expat days as GM of Mitsui’s Washington, DC Office from 2008 through 2012, I was also a board member of Japan Commerce Association of Washington, DC (JCAW) helping connecting Japanese businesses in the greater Washington, DC area and local communities.

The year 2012 was a centennial anniversary of Japan’s gift of 3,000 cherry blossom trees to the United States of America, which were planted in the Tidal Basin near the Potomac River. JCAW organized Japanese language and cultural events for local American people who are interested in Japan and its culture. Through these events, I realized that there are demands of young American people for internship and job opportunities in Japan, while there is some lack of information and bridging functions to connect Japanese businesses, especially SME in Japan to abroad.

Having learned the needs, coupled with my successful acquisition of the Japanese national license of SME consultant, I decided to start up my company to help Japanese SME explore global business opportunities as well as hiring foreign talents, and founded Nisshin Global Corporation in January 2013. My activities came across a government sponsored grass-root exchange program called “Walk in U.S., Talk on Japan” and I was picked as a member of Ambassador Fujisaki’s team visiting Arizona and California in March 2015 to introduce to local communities about contemporary Japan. During this tour, I was able to meet with the great leader of Mr. Doug Bruhnke of Global Chamber. The vision and mission as well as goal of Global Chamber’s activities described by Doug-san really resonates my company’s. I am so honored and excited to be an Executive Director of Global Chamber.
Goals for being an Executive Director and for Global Chamber:

1. Invite as many Japanese businesses, especially SME, NGO/NPO, educational institutions and professional services as member of the Tokyo Chapter as possible and achieve really functioning networks with foreign members
2. Welcome as many foreign members who have desire to explore their activities in Japan as possible and support them to make their dreams in Japan come true.
