Dear Parents, Carers, NHYO Members,

A belated Happy New Year to you all and welcome back. I know it seems a long time ago but I hope you enjoyed the November workshop as much as we did – it was good to work with you all in a more relaxed way without everyone running in from school or thinking about their maths homework… The VIPs that came (local Stevenage councillors) thought that you made a fantastic sound and really enjoyed the varied range of music that was performed. Even more importantly they thought that you all looked like you were having a good time, which is great to hear!
This term, as you’ve seen by now, has a French theme, with music by Bizet, Debussy and Chabrier. The programme also features Daniel Taylor, who has been working very hard on the Haydn trumpet concerto. Please have a look at the schedule below for the rest of term: do check where to be when AND what to practise for when……

Lastly, a gentle reminder that we START rehearsing at 5.30 pm - with our extra players this term, there is less room to move around with everyone’s cases and things. Turning up late, being in a rush and then having to wade through everything not only disrupts what’s going on but could potentially lead to an accident. We appreciate that you may have prior commitments but please do try to arrive on time.
