To install a new Geoid model in TGO or TBC copy the *.ggf file into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Trimble\GeoData or wherever your current copy of the file CURRENT.CSD resides (if you are not sure, open the Coordinate System Manager, go to File/Open and note the path). Once the appropriate GGF files have been copied, open TGO/TBC, go to Utilities/Coordinate System Manager (in TBC go to Tools/Coordinate System Manager)and select the Geoid Models tab. Use the Edit pull down menu and select the Add Geoid Model option. When prompted name the model use something like Geoid12A (Conus) for example and select the appropriate ggf file (G12AUS.ggf is Geoid12A Conus, G12AAK.ggf is Geoid12A Alaska, and G12AHW.ggf is Geoid12A Hawaii, for example). Upon exiting make sure you save the current.csd file when prompted. NOTE THE NAMING CONVENTION MAY BE DIFFERENT THAN TRIMBLE’S WHEN THEY UPDATE THE COORDINATE SYSTEM MANAGER.
