OR2003 - SYMPOSIUM ON OPERATIONS RESEARCH

Das Symposium on Operations Research OR2003 ist die internationale Jahrestagung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Operations Research e.V. (GOR). Sie dient als Forum für Wissenschaftler und Praktiker aus allen Bereichen des Operations Research.
Das erstmalig 1196 urkundlich erwähnte Heidelberg ist bekannt als romantische Universitätsstadt mit der ältesten, 1386 gegründeten, Universität der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Die Schlossruine mit Schlossgarten, der Philosophenweg, die Gassen der Altstadt und das Neckartal ziehen alljährlich Millionen Touristen aus aller Welt an. Heidelberg wurde in die vorläufige deutsche Liste zur Aufnahme in die Weltkulturerbe-Liste der UNESCO aufgenommen. Die Stadt ist durch Weltoffenheit und Internationalität gekennzeichnet, sie hat heute etwa 140000 Einwohner und bietet dem Besucher vielfältige Kultur- und Besichtigungsmöglichkeiten. Am Samstag, den 6. September, findet die traditionelle Heidelberger Schlossbeleuchtung mit Feuerwerk statt. Ein weiterer Anreiz dafür, den Aufenthalt in Heidelberg nach der Tagung zu verlängern.
Programm- und Organisationskomitee haben sich bemüht, ein interessantes und attraktives Tagungsprogramm zusammenzustellen. Plenar- und Semiplenarvorträge sowie mehr als 300 Beiträge in den 17 Sektionen geben einen umfassenden Einblick in die aktuellen Themen des Operations Research.
Wir laden herzlich zur aktiven Teilnahme an diesem Symposium und natürlich auch zum Besuch Heidelbergs ein!

Die Konferenz findet im Hörsaalgebäude der Universität am Universitätsplatz in der Altstadt von Heidelberg statt. Sie beginnt am Dienstag, 2. September 2003, mit einem informellen Treffen und der Möglichkeit zur Anmeldung in der Neuen Universität von 17:00 Uhr bis 20:00 Uhr. Das Tagungsbüro wird während der Konferenz ebenfalls dort sein und jeweils von 8:30 Uhr bis 18:00 Uhr geöffnet sein.
Das wissenschaftliche Vortragsprogramm umfasst eingeladene Plenar- und Semiplenarvorträge sowie Sektionsvorträge. Der voraussichtliche Zeitplan ist wie folgt.

Die Eröffnungssitzung findet am Mittwoch, den 3. September, in der Aula der Neuen Universität statt. Sie beginnt um 9:00 Uhr. In der Eröffnungssitzung werden die Dissertations- und Diplomarbeitspreise vergeben. Weiterhin erfolgt die Verleihung des Wissenschaftspreises der GOR.

Mit dem Auto nach Heidelberg: Von der Autobahn A 5 aus Süden/Norden am Autobahnkreuz Heidelberg oder von der Autobahn A 6 aus Süden/Norden am Autobahnkreuz Mannheim auf die A 656 in Richtung Heidelberg wechseln.
Bahnverbindungen Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof: Heidelberg ist an das Intercity-Netz der Deutschen Bahn angeschlossen. Auskunft über die Verbindungen gibt die Deutsche Bahn.
Das Konferenzgebäude (Neue Universität) liegt in der Heidelberger Altstadt.

Von der Autobahn kommend: Kurz vor dem Autobahnende in Richtung Hauptbahnhof abfahren, am Hauptbahnhof vorbei Richtung Schloss halten und der Kurfürstenanlage über Römerkreis bis Adenauerplatz folgen. Dann geradeaus durch den Gaisbergtunnel über die Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage (Richtung Schloss) fahren. Parkmöglichkeiten in der Altstadt sind in Parkhäusern gegeben.

Anreise Altstadt mit öffentlichem Nahverkehr:

vom Hauptbahnhof in die Altstadt: Mit den Bussen der Linien 41 und 42 in Richtung Uniplatz oder mit den Bussen der Linie 11 (Richtung Karlstor) und Linie 33 (Richtung Ziegelhausen).

Der Konferenzort ist das Hörsaalgebäude der Universität in der Heidelberger Altstadt und liegt in kurzer Distanz zu den meisten Hotels. Da Heidelberg eine Touristenstadt ist, wird dringend empfohlen, Hotelbuchungen frühzeitig vorzunehmen. Zimmerreservierungen können über die Internetseite erfolgen.
Während der Konferenz stehen allen Teilnehmern heiße und kalte Getränken zur Verfügung. Da die Tagung im Zentrum Heidelbergs stattfindet, gibt es eine große Auswahl von Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe. Mittagessen kann auch in der Mensa eingenommen werden.

Eine Rückerstattung bereits gezahlter Beiträge (abzüglich EUR 40,-) ist bis zum 1. August 2003 bei schriftlicher Benachrichtigung möglich. Nach dem 1. August kann keine Erstattung mehr erfolgen.
Instruktionen zur Einreichung von Beiträgen zum Proceedingsband sind auf der Internetseite zu finden. Der späteste Einreichungstermin ist der 31. August 2003. Alle Einreichungen werden begutachtet. Wegen der vorgegebenen Höchstseitenzahl können nicht alle Beiträge berücksichtigt werden. Es sei ausdrücklich auf die Möglichkeit hingewiesen, Artikel bei den Zeitschriften
