This amendment is raised to respond to suppliers questions:

Question 1:
I am still struggling with the latest amendment which I have included as attachments. I would like to address each of the Lines marked in red. I will be using the first AMD 6 RFSO (ENG) Part A; AREA1 21501-167453 as my example.  To me I see a lot of confusion as the request being made as they do not meet with Produce Industry standards for packaging.
Line 3 – Under Column C – This should read “1” as all other items are “1”.

Under Column D – Unit of measure should be 15

Under Column D – Unit of measure should be 15– Format is correct as it is referring to count.
Line 4 - Under Column C – This should read “1” as all other items are “1”.

Under Column D – Unit of measure should be 8

Under Column E – Format is incorrect as it does not refer to count which it should be.
Line 5 - Under Column C – This should read “1” as all other items are “1”.

Under Column D – Unit of measure should be 6

Under Column E – Format is incorrect as it does not refer to count which it should to be.
Line 26 - Under Column D – Unit of measure should be 4.54 kilograms (kg). This would identify it as 1 case per industry standards. Also another question

comes to mind is ordering. How would the location order product? Ordering by the kg for this item is not common at all and would be sold by a “case basis”. I personally don’t know of any company that would sell spinach by the KG.

Line 27 - Under Column D – Unit of measure should be 15.88 kilograms (kg). As to orders from CSC locations, please refer to Line 26. Same issues regarding selling by the kg. rather than by the case.
Line 28 – Under Column D – Unit of measure should be 12.

Under Column E – Format should read “each”. Tofu is not sold by the “kg” but in case of 12x350 gm. Please refer to Line 26 regarding ordering and

the difficulties that would occur under the present format.
Line 31 - Under Column D – Unit of measure should be 11.34 kilograms (kg). This is the standard net weight is 10.88 lbs. Again ordering by the Kg. does not work if that is the route CSC is taking.
As I mentioned before all companies have the same standard packaging from growers and shippers which we purchase from. Everything is done by this standard and the solicitation should reflect that. This provides all companies who are bidding on this RFSO the same standard of units that we are accustomed to seeing in our industry.
Response 1:
Each supplier must provide their price as per the format requested in the spreadsheet for evaluation purposes.
This format is for evaluation purposes ONLY and the Regional Individual Standing Offer will reflect the appropriate ordering information once awarded.
Line 3 – Under Column C – amended

Under Column D – Unit of measure will remain at 6 for evaluation purposes

Line 4 - Under Column C – amended

Under Column D – Unit of measure will remain at 6 for evaluation purposes

                Under Column E – amended

Line 5 - Under Column C – amended

Under Column D – Unit of measure will remain at 6 for evaluation purposes

Under Column E – amended
Line 26

Line 27 –

  • This will remain as it was in Amendment 6, packaging is for evaluation purposes.

Line 28 –

  • This has been amended into two lines, 28 a. and 28 b. to allow for pricing for each size of the tofu packages. Pricing is to be per Package for evaluation purposes, bidders can bid on both sizes, but they must bid on one.

Line 31 - Under Column D – Unit of measure will remain at 1 for evaluation purposes.

Question 2:
The last question I have for this RFSO is as follows:
Are all the quantities that have been changed to red now cases? Based on the information in Columns C, D and E in my eyes I see a mixed message. For example on Drumheller on Line 26 quantity is 232. Is this kilograms or cases which would amount to 51 cases or less than 1 a week. Some clarity needs to be provided so this RFSO is consistent. As it stands I am sure other companies, myself include are struggling to give you the correct costs.
Response 2:
The estimated quantities are for evaluation purposes only, and are for the package format for estimation, they do not necessarily reflect actual usage for any of the locations.
