STATE OF TEXAS IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURT
COUNTY OF LEON OF LEON COUNTY, TEXAS
On this the 3rd day of September, 2014, the Commissioners Court of Leon County, Texas, met for a special called budget meeting directly after its regularly scheduled 9:30 a.m. meeting with the following members present:
Byron Ryder – County Judge
Joey Sullivan – Commissioner Pct. No. 1
David Ferguson – Commissioner Pct. No. 2
Dean Stanford– Commissioner Pct. No. 3
David Grimes – Commissioner Pct. No. 4
Together with County Clerk Christie Wakefield, serving as an ex-officio member of the Commissioners Court, Auditor Linda McDonald, Assistant Auditor Melissa Abney, and County Treasurer Brandi Hill.
1. OPEN MEETING WITH PRAYER AND PLEDGES.
Commissioner Sullivan opened the meeting with prayer; pledges to the American and Texas flag were rendered.
2. DISCUSS AND POSSIBLY TAKE ACTION ON ANY BUDGETING ITEM(S) FOR THE “2014-2015” BUDGET.
3. DISCUSS “2014” TAX RATE (NO VOTE).
Tax rate is planned to be $.417777.
4. DISCUSS THE “2014-2015” PROPOSED BUDGET (NO VOTE).
5. ANNOUNCE PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED “2014-2015” BUDGET.
The hearing will take place on September 9, 2014, at 1:30 p.m.
6. ANNOUNCE PUBLIC HEARING TO ADOPT THE “2014-2015” BUDGET.
The hearing will take place on September 9, 2014, at 2 p.m.
7. ANNOUNCE PUBLIC HEARING TO ADOPT THE “2014” TAX RATE.
The hearing will take place on September 9, 2014, at 2 p.m.
8. SCHEDULE AND ANNOUNCE PUBLIC HEARING TO ADOPT RESOLUTION LEVYING A TAX RATE FOR THE COUNTY OF LEON (FOR TAX YEAR 2014)
The hearing will take place on September 9, 2014, at 2 p.m.
9. PUBLIC COMMENTS
County Treasurer Brandi Hill reported that the State Comptroller notified Leon County that the State of Texas has overpaid us $44,982.72 in sales taxes. There are three ways to reimburse or arrange monthly payments. Discussion. This item will be added to the agenda for September 8, 2014.
There are bids submitted for the IT services, which also will be placed on the next agenda.

Commissioner Sullivan made the motion, seconded by Commissioner Ferguson to adjourn.
