The Ant.com Toolbar: Tube Downloader & VLC Media Player

• Yea, I went with the Mountain theme…got a problem with that?

Download You Tube Videos? Say whaaaat?

• Using the Ant.com toolbar, you can easily download any video from you tube…or similar video website…

How to do it

• Go to – bjk05d.wordpress.com

• Locate the links on the right side of the page

• Click “Ant Toolbar”

• Download the toolbar, and allow your chosen browser to restart

How to do it

• Next, get on you tube (or a similar site with flash media) and find a video

• The button that reads “Download” will activate (become defined in color)

• Click “Download”, and the video will begin to download just like an e mail attachment

• Make sure you download load it to the desktop

Now we need a decent Media Player that can read the file…

• If you can read this, you don’t need glasses.

VLC Media Player

• Go back to bjk05d.wordpress.com

• Comment on the Blog

• Acceptable Comments:
• “Great Presentation!”
• “Do you work out?”
• “Tell me about Pokemon…”

• Next, click on the link labeled “VLC Media Player”

VLC Downloading

• Follow the instructions that the website provides, and install VLC Media Player on your computer

• Open VLC Media Player (an icon should have been created on your desktop)

• Once opened, Click and drag the you tube video that you downloaded into VLC Media Player.

• You should now be able to watch the video – All without being connected to the Internet!

Why is this sooooooooo cool, Brett?

• Well, I’ll tell you

• You can now easily watch your favorite videos anytime you want – especially when Comcast goes out
• Allows for easy Transportation and Access
• Great for presentations!
• Just pop the video on any USB Drive

What are some potential bad thingys?

• The computer you are transferring it to needs to have VLC, or another compatible Media Player

You can use VLC to convert the audio of any you tube video into an mp3!

Complete Idiot’s Guide to Converting Media in VLC

• Open VLC Media Player

• Click Media

• Click “Convert / Save”

• Locate the video and click “Convert / Save”

• Select “File” and Name the MP3 – You can also choose a destination

• STOP – Make sure you add “.mp3” after the name of your file!!!

How to…

• In the “Encapsulation” Tab, select MP3

• Go into the “Audio codec” Tab

• Select “Audio”
• Choose MP3 in the drop list

• Check to make sure you have save the file as “(InsertFileNameHere).MP3”

• Click Save

Is VLC a ghost?

• No – It’s not, and you’re a silly person for asking

• VLC is simply converting the file, os you will see the bar move without presenting and Video or Audio

Did it work?

• Finally, locate the file that you just created, and drag it into VLC

• You should be good to go!

• You can now take any video on You Tube and convert it into an MP3!!!

• You Tube has millions of videos that have audio from CDs, Music Videos, Live Performances, etc…

• MP3 Player

• Handy audio clip for a presentation

• Ring tone
