SYMBOLISM:

The Naval Computer and Telecommunications Stations (NCTS) San Diego logo epitomizes our organizational mission statement and our core mission areas. In honor of Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, one of the twentieth century’s most influential computer pioneers, guided missile destroyer DDG 70 sits at the forefront of the logo. NCTS San Diego resides in the Grace Murray Hopper Service Center, Building 1482, Naval Air Station North Island, Coronado, California; therefore, it was most appropriate to acknowledge and capture the spirit of RADM Hopper in her quest for pushing the limits of controversial thinking and looking beyond the norm for innovative solutions and approaches to problem solving. With the turn of the twenty-first century and the rise of the information age characterized by the need for instant access to knowledge, the satellite represents our command and control footprint, providing secure, rapid, and high-quality communications and information technology products and services to fleet and shore commands. The platinum shield is representative of NCTS San Diego’s commitment to the CIA Triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability) in order to ensure information superiority is provided to the warfighter. The E-6B Mercury airplane and submarine are represented to reflect NCTS San Diego’s nuclear command and control communications core mission area.
