18th Veterans Day Gourd Dance

Join Pueblo Grande Museum for the 18th Annual Veterans Day Gourd Dance on November 11th! This annual event held at the Museum, honors the memory of all the men and women who have served our nation. Gourd dancing is conducted by the Arizona Territory Gourd Society, a non-profit group of American Indian United States War Veterans and their families who celebrate and support the local Arizona veteran community. Come to Pueblo Grande Museum and join us in celebrating our veterans. Joining the Gourd Dance this year to honor our veterans is Native American actor Rick Mora of the Yaqui and Apache Nations with United States Marine Corps Veteran and actor Saginaw Grant of the Sac and Fox Nation. Both Mora and Grant are strong supporters of veteran awareness issues and Pueblo Grande Museum is honored to have them participate in this year’s Veterans Day Gourd Dance. This event is free and open to the public, sponsored in part by the Pueblo Grande Museum Auxiliary. In honor of the Veterans Day holiday, Pueblo Grande Museum is offering free Museum admission during the normal business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

A one night gala with 100% of ticket proceeds being used to build Homes & Schools for Women in Malawi, Africa! This party is a continuation from the successful "Great Gatsby" event held in 2015 where they came together as a community and exceeded all expectations. The event theme is quite simple - have fun and celebrate with fellow donors for three hours of complimentary drinks, appetizers, entertainment & valet parking. Entertainment for the evening will be a cabaret performance by locally renowned duet Nicole Pesce (Pianist) and Renee Grant Patrick (Singer). Period attire from the movie or book is highly recommended but not a requirement. Tickets are $30.00 minimum in advance and $4.000 at the door with limited occupancy.

Join us for November Yoga in the Park with Allison Barnett! This is a donation based yoga class and all donations will go to Home 'Fur' Good, a local animal rescue serving our community. This event is open to everyone so bring friends and family or come alone! Remember to bring your own yoga mat, and bring water.Bring your willingness to move and have fun! The instructor, Allison, became certified as a yoga teacher in 2013. She teaches gentle flow yoga, which is good for all skill levels. In addition, she enjoys teaching yoga with a trauma based focus. Her passion is aerial yoga, which she discovered this year. This event is free to attend with donations being highly encouraged.

The Grand Avenue Festival, produced by Grand Avenue Arts & Preservation (GAP), was voted “Best Arts Festival” in 2015 by Phoenix New Times! It is a non-traditional "walking" and "discovery" community arts and preservation Festival.The Phoenix Annual Parade of the Arts, produced by Production Agency for Participatory Arts (PAPA), will bring their community-friendly arts parade to the event again this year, traveling south at 6pm from McKinley and Grand, and ending at Unexpected Gallery at 734 W. Polk Street. Free parade registration takes place a half hour in advance for those vying for prizes; look for the PAPA table at the starting point. Local Grand Avenue businesses, galleries, art studios, and organizations with special events, will highlight their specialties, artwork, food, performances, music, and services. This event is free to attend.
