Tranzit Bus Service (Khandallah/Churton Park/Crofton Downs)

Dear Parents and Guardians

I am writing to you in relation to the Tranzit Bus Service organised by the College (Khandallah, Churton Park & Crofton Downs services for 2017. Bus route information is available for all services enclosed with this communication and on the College website. The times and stops are very clear and all the pickup/drop off points will be at Metlink bus stops N.B. Although the stops are at Metlink stops Tranzit are a completely separate organisation and the timetable for Scots services will not be found on Metlink sites, the reason for stopping at designated bus stops is for safety of students getting on and off buses. All students must wait at the designated Metlink stops. Drivers are no longer able to pick up passengers from the road side other than at the marked bus stops to assure the safety of all passengers, road users and pedestrians.

I am able to confirm the cost structures for these services for term 1, 2017. These costs have been determined by the Business Centre and will be in place for term 1, 2017. Single trip price $4.20 and return trip price $8.40.

Charges will be made at the start of each term. Please note that these charges are fixed for the entire term irrespective of whether your son misses a day. Charges will be based on the information you provide to in your completed Tranzit registration form which must be returned to me by Tuesday 2 February 2017.
It is crucial that you return the form attached with this letter before or on the first day of term as to the number of trips per week you require. Throughout the term there will be spot checks to ensure that this system is not taken advantage of and to maintain equity for all users.
Examples of costs for term 1 (11 weeks)

• 
  A student who catches the bus both ways for 5 days will be charged 5 x Return rate per week for the number of weeks in the term i.e. 5 x 8.4 x 11 = $462
  
• 
  A student who catches it for all 5 mornings only will be charged 5 x Single rate per week i.e. 5 x 4.2 x 11 = $231
  
• 
  A student who catches it both ways for 3 days and mornings only on 2 days will be charged 3 x Return plus 2 x Single per week i.e. ((3 x 8.4) + (2 x 4.2)) x 11 = $369.60
  

These costs will be reviewed each term and are dependent on the number of passengers we have on Tranzit bus services.

Please can I ask that you take a moment now to fill in and return your Tranzit registration form for the upcoming term.
