Troubleshooting FTP connections between SR3420 and Controller PC

Verify the following:

  1. Controller PC is started up

  2. Open a cmd shell on the controller PC and try to ping both SRPM addresses on the 3420: '192.168.0.40' & '192.168.0.41'

    1. If neither SRPM responds to the ping, try rebooting the 3420.

    2. If the ping is still unsuccessful, contact Spirent Support

  3. Open a cmd shell on the controller PC and open an FTP connection to the controller itself: 'ftp 192.168.0.35'.

    1. If the ftp connection gets refused, then that means the FTP service on the controller PC is down.

    2. Go to 'control panel-> administrative tools-> services' and look for the service 'FTP publishing' and restart the service.

    3. Alternatively, if you use FileZilla as your choice of FTP server on the controller PC, look for the ‘FileZilla Server FTP’ service and restart it1.

    4. Contact support if your FTP service will not start

  4. Verify that the following credentials allow logging into the FTP service: usr: anonymous / pwd: anonymous

    1. If the login credentials do not allow access to the FTP please contact support

  5. Reboot SR3420 and verify that both SRPMs can successfully open an FTP connection to the controller. When using FileZilla, this can be easily verified by opening the FileZilla server interface.

1 Note that only one FTP service can actively listen on TCP ports 20 & 21. If you have both FileZilla & Windows FTP Publishing available on the controller PC, you must choose one only
