– Shipper’s Export Declaration, a U.S. Census Bureau form used to report export transactions to
various governmental agencies (e.g. Customs, Department of Commerce, Homeland Security, State &
Defense Departments, & Treasury).
Shipping Advice
– A communication provided to consignees and other interested parties that gives
information on a particular shipment prior to the delivery of the shipment.
SLI
– Abbreviation used to describe the “Shipper’s Letter of Instruction”, a document used with Freight
Forwarders to dispatch shipments internationally.
