At first sight, from its title, the cover and treatment, The Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupery may seem as a children's book. However, this book can equally attract both children and adults. This enchanting story takes the reader on fascinating trip all over the universe and helps to realize the values of human life.
One of the most unique features of the book is that it is a combination of three literature genres: parable, allegory, and fable. The main aim of the book is to recall the audience about relationship, responsibility and commitment rather than to entertain.
The author's other works such as The Aviator (1926), Southern Mail (1929), Wind, Sand and Stars (1939) are also fruits of his dangerous trips as a pilot.
The story about an incredibly deep gap between children and adults is revealed through the dialogues of two main characters. Moreover, there are other minor characters that serve as a picture of some problems. The Little Prince and The Pilot are those who describe the general concepts of the story. The habitats of other planets (minor characters) are the reflection. Of immortality of our lives.
The book is well-written that assists in the readers' thinking about life principles and values. Each chapter of the novella becomes more and more engaging and inspires the reader to contemplate.
Before reading this book I did not expect that it would be such a pleasure for me to read it. However, while reading the story I realized that The Little Prince deserves high esteem of the reader.
Consequently, I highly recommend to read and become encouraged to think about the most important things like love, responsibility and life goals.
