INTRODUCTION

Among the problems theoretically and experimentally solved by the methodology of foreign languages, communicative competence and ways to achieve it are one of the most relevant. It is very difficult to master communicative competence in English without being in the country of the language being studied. Therefore, an important task of the teacher is to create real and imaginary situations of communication in a foreign language lesson, using various methods and techniques for this (role-playing games, discussions, creative projects, etc.).

In solving this problem, a huge role is played by technical teaching aids, which allow students to give more complete and accurate information on the topic being studied, increase the visibility of learning and cause a desire to further improve the language culture.

Equally important is the task of familiarizing schoolchildren with the cultural values of the people - the native speaker. For these purposes, the use of authentic materials (drawings, texts, sound recordings, etc.) is of great importance. Acquaintance with the life of English-speaking countries occurs mainly through the text and illustrations to it, watching film fragments, transparencies, filmstrips.

Hence, the importance and relevance of studying the use of video materials is obvious. The main means of teaching a foreign language is the language environment, and all other means are auxiliary, their purpose is to create a more or less pronounced illusion of introducing students to the natural environment. Conducting a lesson entirely in a foreign language creates a prototype of a foreign language environment, brings the educational process closer to the conditions of genuine communication in this language.

Thus, the object of our research is the use of technical teaching aids, and the subject is the use of video materials in foreign language lessons.

In this paper, we aim to prove that the use of video materials is one of the main technical means of teaching a foreign language, and in particular, its speech side.

The hypothesis of the study - we assume that the use of video materials helps to improve the assimilation of knowledge in foreign language lessons, namely:

- filling the lack of a natural foreign language environment at all stages of education and expanding the horizons of students;

- implementation of the important didactic principle of visibility and education of aesthetic taste in students;

- training taking into account the individual typological characteristics of each student;

- ensuring the accelerated formation and development of the skills of auditory and visual self-control and the manifestation of interest in the subject among students;

- maximum use of analytical and imitative abilities of students, more complete mobilization of their internal resources.

Research objectives:

- to identify the psychological and pedagogical aspects of the use of technical teaching aids in the classroom;

- to determine the conditions for increasing the effectiveness of teaching a foreign language using video materials in the educational process;

- to develop a system of exercises for the use of video materials at different stages of teaching a foreign language.

- conduct research using video materials in the lessons to improve the effectiveness of teaching.

The methodological basis for the study of this topic are theories and concepts of teachers G.F. Suvorova, O.I. Barmenkova, I.A. Isenko, as well as the developments of methodologists E.A. Maslyko, E.A. Ilchenko, M.Yu. Baranova M.V., Smirnova, Yu.A. Komarova, M.I. Myatova and others.

With the help of such empirical methods as conversation, questioning, analysis, a system of exercises was developed on the use of video materials at different stages of learning.

The base for the study was the lyceum in the village of Mesyagutovo, Duvansky district. The experiment covered 8th grade students in the amount of 25 people.

The theoretical significance of the study lies in the theoretical substantiation of the need to use technical means in foreign language lessons in order to ensure the effectiveness of the educational process.

The practical significance lies in the development of some recommendations on the use of video materials in teaching a foreign language, namely the selection of exercises and texts.

Video materials are technical teaching aids related to modern methodological techniques. The teacher should not only know what video materials are, but also be able to apply them in practice. Only by correctly mastering the methodology of working with video materials, he can convey knowledge to students. The materials of this work can be used by teachers, both at the initial and secondary stages of education.

This is the basis of the theoretical and practical significance of our study. The work consists of the content, introduction, three chapters, brief conclusions to them, conclusion, list of sources used and applications. In the first chapter, we reveal the theoretical foundations for the use of technical teaching aids, including video materials in foreign language lessons, in the second chapter, intensive approaches to their use at various stages of teaching a foreign language are proposed, and in the third chapter, we conduct an experiment to study the effectiveness of the use of video materials in teaching a foreign language.

The list of references includes a list of books, journals, articles containing information on this topic.
